You were at the bar with Mike, Paige, and Johnny when Severide texted you.

Sev: Hallie's in the hospital

You call him, excusing yourself from the table.

"Hello?"

"What happened, Kelly?"

"There was a fire at the clinic she volunteered at."

"How's Matt?"

"Pacing like a tiger in a cage."

"Should I come? I mean, I never really liked her for Matt."

"Please, for Matt?"

"I'm on the next flight out of L.A."

You hang up and return to the table.

"Everything alright," Johnny asks.

"Uh, yeah. Mike, I need to talk to Briggs. Can you come with me," you ask your boyfriend.

"Uh, sure. Yeah. Let's go," he says, grabbing your hand.

You head back to the house and a few tears escape. Even though you and Hallie weren't the best of friends, she was always nice to you. When you arrive at the house, you wipe your tears and find Briggs talking with Charlie in the kitchen.

"Briggs, can we talk," you ask him.

"Yeah, what's up?"

He follows you to the phone room, leaving Mike and Charlie confused.

"My brother's girlfriend is in the hospital," you say.

"Go back home. And take Mike with you. I'll book you guys a flight for this afternoon," he says, hugging you.

You walk back out and motion for Mike to follow you upstairs. He stops outside your door when he sees you grab your suitcase.

"Where are you going," he asks, sitting at your desk.

"We are going to Chicago. Matt's girlfriend is in the hospital, and Briggs is getting us a flight."

Six hours later, you landed in Chicago and Kelly picked you guys up in the chief's buggy. When you got to Lakeshore, you raced to your brother. He hears running and looks over, confused when he sees you.

"Y/N? What-"

"Briggs got us on the earliest flight here. How is she," you ask, hugging your brother.

"She was unresponsive the whole ride over," he says as the doctor walks out.

He makes his way over to the doctor and then breaks down moments later. Tears escape and Mike pulls you in for a hug. Peter Mills is the first person to console your brother. The following shift, you and Mike visited the station to share something during the morning brief.

"We're gonna dedicate the opening night of Molly's to Hallie. All money made will be donated in her name," Hermann says before sitting down.

Chief Boden motions for you and Mike to speak.

"The Graceland house is making donations in Hallie's name and Briggs will be speaking with our events coordinator to see if our Chicago field office can set something up in her name as well," Mike says.

You play with your hands as your boyfriend speaks. He nudges you with his elbow.

"Oh, sorry. Um, Mike and I will be working with the Intelligence unit as an extra set of hands on this. No, it's not a federal case. But Hallie was family. Not only here at 51, but at the Graceland house, too," you tell them.
