CHAPTER 116: THE QUIET DECISION

"Thanks to your half-hour bath, we are late for dinner." Isaac complained on their way to meet the rest of the crew in the cafeteria. The hallways were not that crowded and the elevators were emptier compared with the volume of people during business hours. Their path was calm. "I am starving, Gavin."

"After always looking good, I have a status to maintain, Isaac. People cannot see me wearing random pieces of clothing. It is different than you. You always look basic but you always look good – and the basic is not said in a pejorative way." Gavin explained. Isaac rolled his eyes internally.

"You are talking just like Lysandra Pyotr." Isaac said. "You two were spending a lot of time together recently. Maybe that is the reason why to all of that."

"We were going out a lot indeed." In his mind, Gavin froze with the mention of his meetings with Lola. Sure they went out to have a chat, some drinks, fun in general, however, there was a denser and deeper reason behind these encounters. "I feel like Lola got away from us and we got away from her in the same intensity. It shouldn't be like that. I mean, she was with us since the beginning. She is with you since you were born, practically. You know what I mean, Isaac?"

"I understand. It is strange indeed. However, that is Lola. Since we finished basic school, she got on her way to do everything she always wanted. She achieved a lot, and it demands a lot of her time. In the time I was hidden in the bunker, she came to check on me as often as she could and she stayed there as long as it was possible inside her agenda. I appreciate that more than just consistency." 

"Yes, and that is why I wanted to be more around her. But I do understand she has her commitments with her job and all that social media thing. She is a sensation online. I always knew but I never had a realization of the scale of her fame."

"Beauty, money and charisma takes you to places you cannot imagine, Gavin." Isaac said. "But in your case, we would only have beauty and money. In the charisma department you are in debt."

"I am in debt in the charisma department?" He responded in an offended voice. "Then you are about to be executed by that very department for tax evasion on billions of charisma credits."

"I do not need to be charismatic. I am just the President's sun. I just need to have beautiful teeth, as Mrs. Angelina said once." Gavin laughed at that.

"If Angelina said I won't question about it." They stopped at the entrance of the cafeteria. Since they were late, fewer people were there, but movement and talking were still constant. The cafeteria was wide and it looked like a fancy restaurant in Qorjal. Dark walls and floor, but reflective and shiny. Hot orange lightning took place in the right positions, just like the usual cold and bright white. By their left, a giant and tall window, which occupied that entire side of the room, showed the view of the planet. The walls of the cafeteria reached ten meters in height, giving them a relief of space, almost an exaggerating sight, but still beautiful.

The boys did not expect to see Zarkobretch and the crew of the CCR to be there, but Thrydalliv spotted the boys by the entrance getting greeted by some people when he got up from his chair and smiled at the Celestials, motioning for them to sit in that table. Gavin saw him first and started walking to his direction.

He quickly whispered in Isaac's ear, as he motioned for him to lower his head so he could actually listen. "Martheust is with them. Pretend we are happy." Isaac cursed mentally, but he did as he was told.

"Gentleman, good evening! I did not think you were having dinner tonight." Zarko said while sitting back. The boys sat side by side, as usual. In Gavin's left, there was Ayra. In Isaac's right, there was Iglesy. Zarko and Martheust were in front of them.
