CHAPTER 51: TOGETHER AGAIN

Roxiette Avegayle's POV

A tear fell from her eyes, when she finally caught a glimpse of my entire body. She was only staring at me and appeared to be having trouble believing that I was actually standing right in front of her while dressed in a panda costume.

I allowed her to remain in that position before slowly removing the head of my panda costume. She was even more stunned and surprised when she saw my face smiling sweetly at her.

I had been waiting for this moment, and it finally happened. For real.

I became worried a few seconds later when she started to cry like a baby, reason for me to move closer to her and very gently hugged her; she hugged me back, undoubtedly longing for me.

"Baby, why are you crying?" I asked softly. She sobbed more heavily after I asked her, which concerned me much more.

"I...I-I finally heard the sound of your voice again. And... Felt your physical presence."

"Of course. I told you, I will be back. I will never give you a promise that I won't keep," I confidently said.

I felt that she hugged me more tight.

"Thank you, love. For coming back," she said and I can feel her smiling.

"And I thank you for waiting, baby." I reply.

"ALI, NARARAMDAMAN MO BA YUNG LANGGAM? AKO KASI RAMDAM KO, EH. ANG KATI!"

Napakalas si Xyri ng yakap sa'kin after we heard Aki's voice. We literally forgot na may kasama pa pala kami. Sabay kaming napalingon kay Aki at Ali na awkward na nakangiti sa'min.

"Nakalimutan niyo po yatang may dalawang single dito sa likod niyo?"

"Masyado na po kayong matamis, kailangan niyo na pong mapatumba," dagdag naman ni Ali.

Natawa kami dahil sa mga reaction ng kasama namin. Kaya naman ay tinigil na muna namin 'yon at para raw i-celebrate na ang birthday ko.

I had no idea that this is actually how Xyri remembers dates that are important to her. She's so sweet yet she's too shy to show it. She made me feel more happier. I'm the happiest. And-

I wasn't expecting her to be so clingy this moment around!

She follows me everywhere I go.

And she was clinging to me and wrapping both of her hands around my arms wherever I am. She refuses to really separate herself from me.

So that was possibly one of the consequences of my absence for half of a year?

I am really surprised today. I thought siya lang ang masu-surprise ko.

She no longer gives any thought if people see her sweet side.

"Why my Xyri is a little bit clingy today, huh?" I teased her. Hindi ko na lang pinarinig ang pang-aasar ko sa dalawa naming kasama na ngayon ay busy sa kinakain nila.

She ignored me and kept eating and she put her head on my shoulder.

I just chuckled at kumain na lang rin.

"Ang cute mo maging mascot ni Panda," Xyri randomly uttered at laughed.

"Really? Then, I can be your panda mascot forever."
