A Little Bit Human (Erwin x OC)

8: Dead

A giant hand shot out of nowhere, lunging straight towards Lillian. The blood in her veins ran cold, and she froze just like she had earlier. Levi however did not freeze. He pushed Lillian into the horse's neck and ducked. The hand went above them, but did not grab either of them. 

"Are you ok?" Levi yelled to his sister. She flipped the wet ebony hair out of her eyes and looked to Levi. 

"I'm fine." She looked behind her, seeing the titan now running towards them. She had been a coward before, but now she could redeem herself. "If I don't kill this titan, it will keep following us!"

"It's too risky Lily. I'm sure we can outrun it!" 

"No." Her dark green eyes stared into Levi's blue ones, straight into his soul. Whatever fear had gripped her earlier was gone, or it was hiding. "You need to go take care of Erwin, I'll deal with this bitch quick, then get back to you." 

"Lillian-"

"Trust me Levi! I know I couldn't do it before! That's why I have to do it now! Don't forget we were trained by the same asshole of a man. Anything you can do, I can do." That wasn't particularly true, but perhaps if she told herself that she could, then maybe she could. 

"Don't freeze up like last time!"

"I'll kill that bastard, I promise Levi. Then I'll get back to you so I can kill another bastard."

Levi stared at his sister. Where was this coming from? The Lillian he knew would never throw herself into a fight like this. What was her motivation for this?

"Good luck." He galloped on while Lillian turned her horse around and towards the titan.

It was an ugly thing, not as ugly as the first one she had seen, probably seven meters. She shakily stood up onto the saddle, just like she had seen the other Scouts do. Her ODM gear shot out to anchor into the titan's flesh, into its shoulder. The titan however was quick. It grabbed her by her waist, pinning one of her arms down. She watched in horror as the titan opened its mouth and started to shove Lillian inside. Fear over took her, and for a moment she couldn't do anything. She simply watched as her legs went inside its mouth, and started to bite down. 

Something inside her came over Lillian. A power she had felt before. A power that every time she had felt it, she pushed it down, it scared her. But at the moment what scared her more was the titan that was starting to bite down on her leg. Lillian took out her blade with her free hand and sliced the titan's lips. It was a cut so deep that it went down into the gums of the titan causing the tooth to fall out. She began to fall, but her hands hit the trigger and her gear swung her towards the back of the titan. She let the ODM gear fling her into the air, and fell down onto the titan's nape, blades first. She cut deep into the nape; a chunk of the titan flung to the side. Lillian retracted her ODM gear and fell down onto the dead titan.

"Fuck!" Lillian cursed. She tried to stand on her leg, but she fell instead. The titan was hot and she needed to get off of it before it started to dissolve. She crawled off the corpse, but slipped on some of the blood that covered the titan. She slid off the titan and hit the ground head first. Lillian was now covered in titan blood, the heat from it was the only thing keeping her warm from the cold rain. 

Her head throbbed, and so did her leg. But she needed to get up. She needed to get to Levi and help him. She needed to kill Erwin. She needed to earn her freedom. Lillian struggled to sit up. When she did she regretted it immediately. Her head was spinning. After a few minutes of catching her breath she whistled for her horse. Nothing happened. She whistled again and again, but still nothing. Of course that would happen, it was just her luck.
