In the morning Lillian surprisingly woke up before Erwin. It was usually Erwin having to try and pull her out of bed. She slowly got out of bed and held her side as she stood up. The only thing Lillian wore was her nightgown, so she slipped it off, then unwrapped the bandages to look at the damage in the mirror.

It could have been worse. If Lillian hadn't moved in that last second it would have been worse. The cut was decently deep. The skin on either side of the cut had been pulled in order for them to be able to stitch it back together, meaning a small chunk of flesh must have been cut out of her. Her right side was black, purple, and an uncomfortable shade of yellow. Despite looking terrible Lillian felt surprisingly strong. Maybe it was because she was fueled by hatred. Anyone who could make her brother cry like that deserved to be put down like a dog that foamed at the mouth.

"What are you doing up? You should be resting more." Erwin was suddenly up, wrapping his arms around her from behind. Lillian stared at him through the mirror.

"I'm not tired. I've been resting for three days."

"You lost a lot of blood darling." Erwin ran a gentle hand over her stitches.

"I feel fine, Erwin. Please. I want to feel useful."

"The most useful thing you can do is get rest. You're too important to me." Erwin gently turned her around and kissed her. "I thought I lost you."

"I couldn't have looked that bad."

"Lily, when Mikasa brought you back you were covered in your own blood, and unconscious. When we got back to Calaneth, and it was easier to tend to your wounds." Erwin paused and looked down at her bruised ribs. "The bruises you have now are nothing compared to what you did have."

Lillian reached up and touched the ring that hung from his neck before wrapping her arms around him, and hugging him. Erwin smoothed her tangled hair down and kissed her on top of her head.

"I should get dressed." Lillian walked under Erwin's arm and towards her dresser.

"No." Erwin sneaked up behind her and closed the drawer before she could open it. "You should rest Lillian."

"You used my full name." Lillian narrowed her eyes at the blonde.

"Almost your full name. Lillian Smith, do not get dressed in your uniform. You should be resting after your injury. Commander's orders."

Lillian crossed her arms over her bare chest. "I should be helping you Erwin. Besides, I should thank Mikasa and check on Eren." She moved Erwin's hand and opened the drawer. "Levi is hurt worse than me. He sprained his ankle, he can't use his ODM gear."

"Neither should you." Erwin took the pieces of her uniform Lillian had slowly been putting together. "You were badly injured Lillian. You deserve to rest."

"No, I should be at your side."

"Don't make me."

"Make you what?"

Erwin scooped her up and placed her softly on her bed. Before Lillian could get back up Erwin held her down with one hand, and with the other he grabbed a fresh roll of bandages.

"Stop struggling, I need to rewrap your wound."

"I can do it." Lillian went to grab the bandages, but Erwin pulled it out of her reach.

"You don't do it right, and I like to do it anyways."

"How often did you change my bandage?"

"Twice a day." Erwin snaked the roll of bandage under her back.
