Lillian had walked into the meeting late. At least she thought she had walked into a meeting late. Erwin had gathered all his squad leaders into one room to go over the upcoming mission once more.

"I'll leave it to you to alert your squads." Erwin's eyes lifted to look at Lillian as she walked through the door. All attention turned on her, then back to the conversation on hand.

"Right. We'll keep it quiet for now, though." One of the section commanders said.

"I think our troops deserve some meat on a day like this."

"Good idea. Gotta show those kids the adults can be counted on."

"What about Commandant Shadis? Keeping important secrets from us?" The squad leaders started to file out.

"Forget it." Hange said. "We don't have time to deal with that now."

"You must be so disappointed. You used to adore him!"

"Shut up!"

Levi forced the door shut behind them, leaving the three of them alone. Now that they were alone Lillian walked up to her husband and gave him a kiss.

"I'm sorry I was late."

"It's quite alright. You weren't even supposed to be at this meeting."

"Why? Just because I don't have a squad."

"No. I was going to have you come, but Hange urged against it. She said you haven't been feeling well."

"I feel fine. I'm only stressed about this mission."

Erwin chuckled. "I think we all are." His attention turned to his brother in law, still at the door. "What is it, Levi?"

"Lily, can I talk to Erwin alone?"

Lillian looked between the two. She had a feeling about what Levi wanted to talk to Erwin about. He was going to urge him to stay. So Lillian happily left the room.

"This may sound impatient, but...what do you think you'll do after retaking Wall Maria?" Levi asked. "I'm guessing a defense plan comes first, but after that? What's next?"

"Well like I was telling Zacharay, start a family with Lily. And of course, working on eliminating threats. Outside the walls, there seems to be someone hoping that titans will eat us all, down to the last person. As to who, well, if we have any luck, we'll find that answer in the cellar. A full plan will have to wait. First we need to see what's in that room."

"What about Lily?"

"I already told you, start-"

"No," Levi interrupted. "From the sounds of it you plan to stay in the Scouts. Even though Lily said she would stay in the Scouts as long as you're still in the Scouts."

"I'm aware. But I can tell she's getting impatient to start a family, as am I. But depending on what we find in that cellar, there will still be a lot of work to do. I'm sure she'll understand, and we can come to an agreement."

"You realize I'm asking this now because you might not live that long. You're not exactly as spry as you used to be. Let Hange call the shots on this mission. In your shape, you'll only be dead weight. You and Lily should sit back and wait for the good news. I'm sure she'll stay if you also stay. We'll tell the others I argued till you gave in. Which I will, so why not make this easier on both of us? What do you say?"

There were two things that crossed Erwin's mind. First it was Lillian. His wife, his other half. She had been his everything for years and years. Ever since he saw her that first time in the Underground, he fell for her. But he never expected her to fall even harder for him.
