A/N:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Sorry this is late, the fanfic writer curse is for real bro. Yesterday I had to go to Urgent Care because I broke a finger. So bear with me, writing is A LOT harder with the splint on, but I will try my best to post twice a week on my normal Mondays and Fridays.

A whole day passed. Nobody could find Lillian. Levi hadn't bothered to look, knowing she would eventually show up. But the day for them to leave the capitol came by, and Lillian was nowhere to be seen. This is when Levi started to worry.

"Where did you all check?" He asked Hange. Levi, Mike, Hange, and Moblit were all gathered around a table. Levi was still confused as to why Moblit had gone with them to the capitol. It's not like Hange needed him here.

"We searched all the barracks, inns nearby, and we checked with all the MPs and the Garrison soldiers who guard the gates, she hasn't left the capitol." Hange explained.

"She could have taken her ODM gear and left that way." Mike said.

"Unlikely. Her ODM gear is still in her bedroom. I think we should spilt up and search the capitol. All of it and not just the surrounding sites we've already done-"

"If Lillian doesn't want to be found she won't be found." Levi interrupted. "Trust me back when we lived underground, and she would run off like she did now-" Levi stopped talking. His eyes were wide as he thought about what he had just said. Why would she want to go back to that place?

Without saying another word Levi got up and left the room. He could hear the other three following him, but he didn't care. When they saw where he was going they would know not to follow, they wouldn't want to follow him. Levi grabbed a horse and rode away from the barracks. He wasn't sure exactly where he was going, but he had an idea.

Why would she want to go back to that place? Levi thought as he stood above the stairs, more specifically staircase eleven. Had it really been three years since him, his sister, and his now dead friends climbed those stairs with the intent to kill Erwin. That it had been the first time in their lives they had ever truly seen the sun? Probably their most basic human right?

Levi took a deep breath and began to walk down the stairs. The Underground was just as he remembered. Dirty, warm, and depressing. It felt like almost a lifetime since he had been here. And yet when he finally made it to the bottom of the steps and he was trapped down here again it felt almost normal. It's sad how people down here and up at the surface were used to feeling like prison was a home.

Lillian could be anywhere down here. Last the people of the Underground heard of her, she and the rest of them were being taken prisoners by the Scouts. But now both Lillian and Levi were wearing their uniforms, and they were clearly not prisoners, they wouldn't be welcomed anywhere down here. Levi walked a familiar walk back to their old home. When he got there the he noticed that the house must have been broken into and left deserted. All the windows were broken, but there were wooden boards covering them, the door also clearly used to have the same treatment, but the boards that used to be covering them were stacked in a neat pile next to the door. Levi slowly pushed the door open.

Inside sitting in the middle of the room was Lillian. There was a mess around her. Some of the furniture was gone, things that hadn't been taken were damaged, and there was broken glass all over the floor.

"Lily." Levi spoke softly. Lillian turned around enough to see him. Her face was red and puffy with dark circles under her eyes.

"Everything is gone." She wept. Levi sat down beside her, careful not to sit on any glass. He pulled Lillian into his arms and let her cry.
