Just as she had predicted Hange was freaking out. Levi's squad and Eren arrived with Hange to survey the damage.

"Long time no see." Lillian smiled, poking Eren in the ribcage with her elbow. He had his hood pulled up in an attempt to hide his identity.

"Yeah I guess." Eren muttered. "How did this- How'd it happen?"

Levi was suddenly on Eren's other side. "Let it go. This is a matter for the Military Police." He walked away and to the outskirts of the crowd. Lillian followed him. "You arrived here with Erwin early this morning. A little after they died. I'm guessing Erwin already has some theories?"

"Of course he does. It was all he was talking about until you guys arrived." Lillian looked back towards the crowd. "You can ask him yourself, once we find him."

Erwin had also gone to talk with Eren. He bent down by Eren's side to tell him something, then left. And that was it. He walked over to the sibling duo.

"Walk with me you two." Erwin said to them, without slowing down.

"Is that really the way you talk to your wife and brother?" Lillian walked on Erwin's left side, while Levi walked on his right side.

"He's my brother in law." Erwin smiled, looking down at her. "Besides, we have more urgent things to discuss."

The three of them walked silently to Erwin's office in Trost. The events from the morning weighing heavily on each of their minds. Lillian couldn't help but stare at Erwin as they walked. His face was stone cold, and his eyes were clearly fixed on something that wasn't tangible in front of him. Erwin opened the door for them, letting the two siblings in, then closing the door behind them.

"Are you finally going to explain your plan? Because I see the gears turning in your head. I'm guessing that Sawney and Bean also have something to add to it." Lillian curled up in one of the seats across from Erwin's desk.

"Am I that easy to read?" Erwin rested his hands on each of her shoulders, then leaned down and kissed the side of her face.

"You forget how much time I spend with you Erwin. I can read you like a book." She leaned on his desk. "Now are you finally going to tell us this plan?"

"Yes, I will." Erwin sat at his desk and pulled out his plans for the next recon mission. "It all starts with the recruitment drive tonight. Every cadet we are able to turn into a Scout tonight will be going on the recon mission."

"Why? You really want kids going with us?" Levi asked.

"I was their age when I went on my first reconnaissance. Besides, I'm hoping to catch a traitor. More specifically a titan shifter like Eren. Perhaps even the colossal or armored."

"You really think that one of those kids could have taken down Wall Maria?" Lillian scoffed.

"I don't think so. I know."

"Erwin, do you think that..." Lillian turned to look at Levi then back at Erwin. "You don't think that there's other people outside of the walls, do you?"

"I do."

Levi had gone out on patrol with his whole squad, leaving Lillian alone in the castle to meet the new troops. She stood by the stable, waiting for her husband's white horse to show up. Scouts had been filtering in all of yesterday and now this morning.

"You ok, Lieutenant?" One of Erwin's section commanders, the one that always seemed to be at the stables, asked her. Lillian couldn't remember his name, but she didn't know him very well in general. He was always in the stables, and Lillian was afraid of all the horses except for her cool tempered gelding.
