A Little Bit Human (Erwin x OC)

69: Thaw

The Lieutenant opened her eyes with a gasp. Despite her pounding head it felt like she had just woken up from a long nap.

"Lillian." A familiar voice called to her. "Are you ok?"

She looked up and was first distraught to be surrounded by MPs. But once she saw it was Nile who had called to her, she relaxed.

"I'm fine." She touched the blood on her forehead. "It's just a scratch."

"Are you sure?"

Lillian wiped her face with her sleeve. "Yeah."

Nile helped her up. "You should get out of here, Lillian."

"Why?" Lillian's eyes trailed down to the black fabric wrapped around his arm. "What does that mean?"

Nile sighed. "I'm guessing you haven't heard much about what's happening."

"Please tell me you aren't one of the high-ranking military officials that drank the wine?"

Nile chuckled sadly. "So you have heard. We all are. Pyxis too. Now that Zeke joined the fight we only have so much time left before we're titans, so we figured we should go out with a bang."

"No, you should run." Lillian grabbed onto his shoulders. "Nile you have your girls, you have Marie."

"Zeke will scream at any second and from what I heard Erwin isn't doing too well in his fight against Eren. You should go, Lillian." He forced her hands off of him. "Just do me a favor and tell my daughters how much I love them, and how much I'll miss them. Tell Marie I love her. And tell Erwin he was always my brother."

In the distance they heard the Beast Titan's booming voice, and they knew it was soon. Lillian took her ODM gear and was about to shoot off to somewhere safe but Nile stopped her for a second.

"Do me a favor? Kill me as soon as I transform, I don't want to hurt anyone."

Lillian nodded, and smiled at him before the Beast Titan let out a horrible scream. She swore that before he did scream he was apologizing. She watched with tears in her eyes as Nile and the other MPs and Garrison soldiers transformed into those familiar yet ugly beasts.

As per Nile's request Lillian located the titan he had transformed into. She drew her blades and jumped down into the hoard that used to be soldiers of Paradis. This would be her first time killing a titan knowing for certain that there was a human inside.

Nile's titan saw her coming and tried to grab her out of the air, but Lillian was faster. She manververed away from his hands and towards the back of his neck. Other titans were also trying to grab at her and eat her, but Lillian was still able to cut through Nile's nape. It hurt Lillian to know that she had dealt with worse swarms of titans.

She landed on a chimney and watched on from afar as Nile's titan fell in a hump of steam. Most of these titans were MPs. Even if Lillian didn't want to kill more titans, and even though they were MPs she still felt a responsibility to give them all as peaceful deaths that she gave Nile.

Taking a deep breath, Lillian stood back up and went to work on the Military Police and Garrison turned titans. 

The ability Eren got from the War Hammer Titan was helping him more than Erwin cared to admit. Eren was strong, and Erwin of course did account for the War Hammer's power, but not to this level. He didn't expect Eren to harness its power so quickly.

The Armored Titan had been severely beaten and broken down due to the hardening the War Hammer could produce. Erwin's unexpected ally, Porco, was also just about as beaten down and broken as him.
