Year 850

Another year, another scouting mission.

"Heads up! The main unit of the Scout Regiment is back!" Some civilians yelled.

"That's right, Commander Erwin! You give those ugly bastards a thrashing!"

"Look! It's Captain Levi!" The crowd's attention turned to the short black-haired man on his horse. "They say he's like an entire brigade unto himself!"

"And his sister! Humanity's Sword!" That was the name they had given Lillian. She wasn't quite sure why. Levi was much deadlier than she was.

"That's not just his sister! That's his twin!"

"The Terror Twins!" That was the name the titan-killing siblings were given. Both thought it was lame.

"Spare me, please." Levi grumbled.

"They aren't even that original." Lillian sighed. "Besides, we're not even twins.

"That scowl from you two will crush your fans. Not that it's any of my business, but from a public relations standpoint, you might wanna lighten up." Hange explained to them.

Levi scoffed.

"The public already hates us enough; I don't see why I can't just scowl."

As the stone gate raised the horses counted. Their nerves just as high as their riders.

"The threshold of Titania!" Hange squealed. "Can't you just envision the horrors in store for us, comrades? I'm on pins and needles! We bag an abnormal, I'll burst with tears of joy!"

Lillian looked over at the brunette who sat next to her on her horse. She was too tired to deal with Hange's crazy for today, so instead she backed her horse up to wait next to Mike.

"I think we've bagged the craziest abnormal already." Levi joked, but in his normal monotone voice.

Hange taking the bait, looked around for it. "What? Seriously? Where?"

Levi grabbed her by the ponytail and pulled her to face him.

"I mean you."

"I love Erwin, but I think he made a mistake letting Hange capture titans." Lillian sighed.

"I agree." Mike said. "Now she never shuts up about scouting missions."

"Move out!" Erwin shouted from the front of the assemblage.

The carts lurched forward as the horses began to walk towards and out the gate. The Scouts first stayed in a signal file line, then branched out as soon as there was enough room, following Erwin's Long Distance Scouting Formation. Or as Lillian liked to call it LDSF.

"Lieutenant." Erwin called to her.

Lillian sped her chocolate bay up to catch up to his white steed. Both agreed to only call the other by their title while in the field or surrounded by comrades.

"Yes sir?"

"I know I said I wanted you in Levi's squad, but I changed my mind, you'll be riding with me."

"May I ask why?"

"I'm pairing Levi's and Hange's squads up, he doesn't need more help. I need help guarding the carts."

Lillian gave Erwin a playful smirk. "You don't need my help. You just want me by your side."

Erwin smiled. Could she blame him?

The formation had only made it to one of the towns in Wall Maria when they came upon a large group of titans attacking them. Levi and Hange's squad took on the brute of the fighting while Erwin's, Mike's, and Dirk's squad went around, protecting the carts.
