Since most of the higher-ranking members of the Scouts would be gone, a couple of the less important section commanders stayed behind to make sure the new cadets wouldn't trash the place. Lillian was sad to leave the comfort of her bed that morning and get dressed then have to sit in a long carriage ride with Erwin. She was basically going to be his number two this entire trip that meant she had to be almost like his shadow. It wasn't too bad though. Levi and Mike also snuck into the carriage.

"Why do they suddenly want a review of us now?" Mike asked Erwin, who sat across from him. Lillian sat next to Mike, and Levi sat across from her, next to Erwin.

"I'm not sure," his eyes darted between the four of them. "Between us I thinks it's because of our past mission, they want more information about what we know."

"Then we don't give it to them," Levi shrugged. "It's as simple as that."

"How much does your squad know about it?" Erwin asked him.

"Enough, but they're not going to the capitol, and they won't tell the others."

"Good. Hange is the only other person who knows other than the people in this carriage. Whoever sees her first needs to explain the situation." Erwin's gaze turned from the two men to Lillian. Just like she had been when the first time she had been in a carriage, she was sitting with her feet kicked up, her head leaned up against the window, both her eyes and mind somewhere else.

"Lieutenant, are you listening?"

"Yep." Lillian answered shortly.

Levi and Mike shared a glance. Mike raised a brow at Levi. They had never heard Erwin call her that out of formal places. Levi already had a feeling that something had happened between these two ever since he saw Lillian crying in her room. He knew his sister. He knew why and for what reasons she cried. And the fact that she wasn't telling him let him made him realize that she didn't want the person who had done the heartbreaking to get hurt.

He wanted to tell her he knew, and whether she denied it or not, Erwin was going to get his butt kicked. But now wasn't the time. Or maybe it was the time. They were all forced in this small space together. But it wasn't enough room, and Levi didn't want to talk it out. He wanted to see where exactly Erwin had found the audacity to hurt his little sister when both of them were clearly head over heels for the other.

"Both of them are zoning out." Mike said. Levi snapped his head back from the window.

"What did you say?" Levi asked. For some reason at the moment, he couldn't stand to look at Erwin.

"Nothing important." Erwin cut in. His eyes once again went to Lillian, who was still leaning against the window. He noticed the faint marks on her neck that had been left there by him. He had done that a couple days ago, he was surprised to see that they were still there even if they were faint. Part of him wanted to forget it, the other part wanted to give her more, let everyone know that she's his.

At the capitol, the Scouts were met by Military Police as soon as their feet had hit the step of the carriage. Erwin was the first to exit the carriage. He was greeted by the Commander of the Military Police, Nile Dawk. Mike got out next, then Levi. Lillian stayed curled up in her spot, debating if she should get out or not. When she finally did get out a minute later, Mike held his hand out for her. She smiled for the first time in the couple days since Erwin had broken her heart. She took Mike's hand and stepped down from the carriage.

"Commander, these are our three best Scouts in the regiment." Erwin gestured to Levi, Lillian, and Mike. The man he spoke to was Erwin's age, maybe older. Lillian hoped he was older, he had more wrinkles than Erwin.
