The rainy season had come in Konoha. The sky was gray, the air was cool, and the rain pelted down heavily. No one dared to go outdoors, lest they wanted to catch the cold that was flying around.

Sarada was surprised to open her door to a drenched Boruto. There was a duffel bag hiding under his cape. His clothes stuck to his skin, and his hair was sticking to his forehead and ears. He was slightly shaking.

"What happened to you?" Sarada asked.

Boruto averted his gaze, and pouted, "I got into a fight with my dad."

Sarada crossed her arms across her chest and sighed. "That doesn't explain why you're wet and at my front door."

Boruto's pout deepened. "He kicked me out. And I–I need"

"A place to stay?" she continued with a smirk on her face.

"Tch." He grimaced. "If you're going to be a little shit about this then–"

He was interrupted when Sarada had pulled him inside her apartment. Once he recovered his footing, he watched her disappear into the hall.

"Don't you dare get my carpet wet!" she called from the bathroom.

Boruto stood up straight, and made himself as small as possible. His cape was dripping all over her floor. She came back and handed him two fluffy white towels and a small plastic basket meant for laundry.

"Dry yourself up and put your clothes here. I'll toss it in with my laundry."

Boruto padded to her bathroom. He peeled his clothes off, and stepped into her shower. He was't surprised that Sarada had let him into her new apartment. He knew she wouldn't turn him away when he was in trouble. But he did expected a little more teasing. A smile found itself on his lips. He was thankful he had her in his life.

After his shower, he pulled out a clean shirt and a pair of joggers from his duffel bag. After he put it on, he collected his wet clothes into the basket and headed out.

He handed the basket over to Sarada.

"I made hot chocolate," she smiled. "They're on the centertable at the living room."

He grinned and nodded. Boruto made his way to the living room and plopped down on the couch. There were two mugs. He picked up the one closest to him and took a sip. The rich liquid poured down into his throat, sending a warm, comforting trickle down to his belly. He sighed. Boruto leaned back and looked at the other side of the couch. There was a book sitting on the table, and a fuzzy throw blanket.

Sarada approached him and sat on the other side of the couch.

"Were you having another night in by yourself?" Boruto snickered.

"Of course not. I was having wild sex just a few minutes before you got here," she replied passively.

Boruto nearly dropped his mug.

Sarada brought the drink to her lips and smiled at him sweetly before she took a sip. The heat slightly fogged the bottom of her glasses.

"Tha-that's not funny, Sarada," he replied glumly.

She feigned surprised, and batted her eyelashes at him innocently, implying that she had done nothing wrong. He stared at her with a disbelieving pout.

She laughed. "Why are you so affected, anyway?" She wrapped the blanket around her shoulders and folded her legs in front of her chest.

Boruto suddenly looked away. "I am not. I don't care what you do in your free time," he replied.

Sarada raised her brow. "Sure you don't." She had a teasing smile on her face, content knowing that she had won this round.

They sat in comfortable silence, finishing their hot chocolate. Once Sarada finished, she looked over to Boruto.

He in turn placed his mug back on the centertable and looked at her, too. "What?"

"Was it that bad?" she asked.

Boruto looked at the empty mug on the table and nodded grimly. "I really fucked up."

Sarada snickered, "you always do."

His brows furrowed and his frown deepened. "You're not helping."

"Will this help?"

Confused, he brought his gaze back up to her face. A light pink stained his cheeks. Sarada held her arms open, both hands holding on to the blanket. She looked like some superhero extending their cape.

"I'll give you a hug," she said. "Not that I want to." A soft smile was on her face.

Slowly, a face splitting grin spread on Boruto's face. He felt all of his worries wash away, and his heart soared with comfort and gratitude. Sarada Uchiha was truly something special.

He pulled her into his chest and hugged her tightly. "Thanks, four-eyes. You're the best."

She smiled and made herself comfortable in his arms.

They stayed in each other's arms, finding comfort in each other's presence. It was in that moment that Boruto knew he had found the right place to stay.
