"So, you figured out who my girlfriend was, when are you going to make your move?" I asked, smiling as I wrote some things out in a notebook, before grabbing my home-cooked meal.

"Huh? Not happening. Nuh-uh." Onodera formed an X with her arms, stopping herself from eating her food.

"Why not?" Ayanokoji chimed in.

"If you have someone you feel affection towards, and nothing is standing in the way, shouldn't you act on it?"

I nodded, Ayanokoji has a point, but that's also coming from someone with no experience in those emotions.

Not to mention Onodera is a maiden, it's not as simple at that.

"Haaa, I don't know. I'm still trying to figure him out you know? He's a real simple guy, but from the looks of things he has his heart set on another girl."

"Have you tried getting closer to him?" I asked. "You have the same kind of hobbies after all."

She waved a hand.

"Nah."

"Why not?" Ayanokoji asked.

She looked down at her food, smiling softly.

"If it makes sense, I just don't want to get in the way you know? If he likes another person then I'll wait it out, if it works out between those two then I'll move on, look for some other guy. If things don't work out, then I'll shoot my shot."

I smiled.

"You're very kind, Onodera-chan."

"...Yeah, that's nice to hear that." She mumbled.

She sighed dramatically, leaning back in her seat.

"Welp! Like I said! Nothing to do but wait. What about you Ayanokoji-kun?"

He waved a hand dismissively.

"I don't have a crush."

"Yeah but, aren't there any girls here that have caught your eye?"

Ayanokoji seemed to think for a moment, before shaking his head.

"I can't see myself with any of the girls here. It's also as Shizukana said, if I were to get together with someone, I'd want it to be a lasting relationship. Something tells me I wouldn't be good at that."

"Eh? Why not? You seem like a fairly dependable guy."

"Fairly?"

Onodera let out a little giggle.

"What? Did I not rate you right?"

"No... you probably did."

Onodera nodded to herself.

"Exactly, so, we should definitely find you someone who can also take care of herself."

Ayanokoji shook his head, before looking at me.

"What do you think Shizukana?"

I brought a hand up to my chin.

For Ayanokoji... unless he truly loved her, it'd probably be best for him to get together with a stupid girl. Or at least a girl who would love him unconditionally.

Well, the more I think about it, Ichinose doesn't seem like a bad idea. It's clear she can tell there's more to Ayanokoji then what you can see, and she seems like the type to adore affection. In other words, so long as he acts like a boyfriend to her, that'll probably be enough.

But he has no experience in that type of thing.

So maybe someone who has some experience in the whole dating thing? Like Karuizawa? The compatibility is there, the strange relationship between those two had progressed to the point that Ayanokoji might not even need to get Karuizawa to fall for him, so long as he keeps playing the hero. It'll also be good practice for him to learn what it's like to be a boyfriend, and to go on dates and stuff.
