"It's been a long time since I've been focused on studying. Six hours in class and three hours after school right? Even students from all over the world don't have to do that much right?"

I smiled at Hasebe's words. The four of us had finished our studying at the place we were at, and since no one had anything going on we all walked back to the dorms together.

"Yes, you're doing well despite that, even with the distraction of class C popping up."

"We didn't give in to the interference though." Hasebe looked over at Miyake, who whispered something to her, and she paled.

"Er, well, you left us for a bit, so you have no one to blame but yourself."

I laughed.

"It's fine it's fine, Shiina-chan is a good person. I'm glad you spent time with her."

I also figured it's better she doesn't know about how much more studying she'll need to do later, it'll kill the mood to do it now.

Miyake looked back at me.

He was trailing a few steps ahead as I walked between Hasebe and Ayanokoji.

"So you know her then? And you seemed pretty goody-goody with Ryuen."

"Hm? Well yeah I guess, even if his methods are harsh they're effective, as someone on an equal standing with him I sought him out, wanting to get to know him better. We hit it off quite well."

Miyake nodded, accepting my words at face value.

"Alright, I'll drop it then, if it was anyone else I'd be more worried but, you've been the main reason we're winning lately, so if you say it's okay it's okay."

I smiled.

"Please, I'd prefer it if my words didn't change your mindset. Ryuen-kun is a complicated indivual, and in some regards he definitely deserves the hate he receives."

The problem is that he does truly have a caring side, it's just not something he can so simply show others.

Hasebe, annoyed at being left out of the conversation, spoke up.

"Y'know, I've wanted to know for a while now, what do you plan on doing in the future Shizuku? Like, why'd you come to this school?"

"Shizuku?" I asked.

She grinned.

"Yep! It's your nickname, you like it?"

I chuckled.

"It's fine, yes. To answer your question though, I was never really sure, I was interested in politics for a time... but to be honest I'm more interested in this school now. I'm thinking if it's possible, I'd prefer to get on the board for this school down the road. What about you? Why did you come here?"

Even though her answer was kind of jumpy in the sense that she didn't exactly think about what coming to this school would imply, she still answered earnestly.

"Well for me, I was one of the people that was attracted to the school's advertising, you know? If the school promises you a job or further education after you graduate, why wouldn't you come here? Isn't that like, the best motivation for people?"

Miyake jumped in on those words.

"I'll add something on to that. Another reason to come here is that the school doesn't cost a cent to attend, and it even provides free dorms, which you'd usually have to pay for. We also don't need these private points necessarily, we get enough free things that we could still function without spending a single one. Personally I appreciate that aspect more than the guarantee of something to do after graduation."
