Horikita POV:
Once again being approached by another student who'd hoped I'd pass chocolates along to Shizukana, I gave the same response I'd given to the others.
"Sorry, but I can't do that."
Some had pressed the matter further, but luckily this student in particular did not.
She let out a disappointed sigh, before nodding her head in understanding.
"I see, I'll just try later I suppose."
There was only a bit of time left before homeroom starts, and Shizukana has yet to show up.
I'd also heard from another that we would receive time to partake in the Valentine's Day courtesies after homeroom, so perhaps he's waiting for then?
According to my knowledge not many people know about this timeframe from this first year.
It was never considered something important enough to be passed along, I only know about it since it was something that happened to be mentioned while I was talking with my brother.
Just before the bell signalling homeroom sounded, Shizukana walked inside.
I felt my eyes narrow as I took in his features.
He worked on himself today.
His hair was designed more stylishly, his uniform was perfect in every sense of the word, and it seemed everything down to his eyelashes were worked on.
What's more...
He kept up his usual appearance outwardly, but as someone as close to him as I, I could see that he seemed nervous about something.
He's not the type to be nervous about receiving gifts or rejecting others.
What's more he's learned how to deal with stalkers based off experience. Or at least has options he knows he can take.
So then this nervousness could only be caused by something he plans on doing.
Coming to this conclusion, I looked over his body again.
He was fumbling with his hands again, something I hadn't seen him do in quite some time.
He used to do it a lot back when he had difficulty speaking upfront with others. It was something he seemed to do subconsciously to help calm his nerves, and if he's doing that now that is only more proof that he's nervous about something.
But what is he planning on doing?
Observing him closer, I noticed that he seemed to have something in his right pants pocket that seemed out of place.
It looked squarish in nature, meaning it's most likely some sort of box.
I ceased my searching as I felt a tap on my shoulder.
Glancing over to the person on my left, I gave Ayanokoji a disinterested look.
"Yes?"
"You know he can tell that you're staring at him right?"
It was not something I thought about, though it is to be expected.
"What does Shizukana-kun plan on doing?"
I decided to just directly ask, I know I'd get the same answer whether I ask Ayanokoji or Shizukana, considering how close the two are.
"You'll see after homeroom."
"So you know about the timeframe being given to us?"
"Yes."
Chabashira-sensei started speaking up, earning our attention, but I found myself soon distracted once more.
