*BAM!*

The sound echoed around the gym, and Ibuki jumped back as she held the guard pads, shaking her arms.

"Ow, can we switch back? This is starting to hurt."

She sat down after saying this, taking off the pads to inspect her arms.

"Ah, sorry sorry."

In light of the recent events, Ibuki and I both decided to spar a bit more, just practicing landing blows, nothing much.

I'd never had as good of a fight as I did when I had fought those two bodyguards of Atsuomi's, although I learned something very important during that fight.

If they're trying to kill you, go all out from the start, or you will deal with unneeded injuries.

It really was a fun fight though, the things I got to test helped me a bunch, I got to learn if a bunch of different moves that I'd practiced were actually usable in a real fight.

So even if I did sustain some unnecessary damage, it could be said that I learned a lot.

I heard a whooshing sound, and quickly lifted my hands to catch the pads Ibuki had thrown my way.

"I think we can agree it's my turn, you were spacing out for a second there." She stated, pulling on some gloves.

"Haha, of course, I do apologize for not paying enough attention, I've just learned some interesting things lately."

"Mhm."

I pulled the pads onto my arms, and held them out as Ibuki moved closer.

She broke into a dash, and I held up a pad to block her initial punch, before sliding under a sudden roundhouse.

"You've gotten a lot better at connecting your moves together." I commented.

She threw a quick couple of jabs, to which I blocked with both pads before pushing forward.

Creating a situation where she loses balance, she dealt with it extremely well.

After my shove, she started falling back, but lifted one of her legs, pivoting on her other foot to let rip a spinning kick.

I'd just barely managed to put the pads together to block on time, and was lifted off the ground a bit when the kick connected.

She didn't give me so much as a second before following up on her attack.

The leg she used to kick was immediately placed back behind her for support as she rushed forward, forcing a quick flurry of punches and elbows at me, all of which were blocked.

I ignored the sounds that the shin pads and the elbow guards and the gloves all would make against the pads on each strike, and instead focused on the moment there was a gap in her formation.

There was a delay on her next attack, and I managed to swerve out of the way, throwing out my own arm to make her dodge back.

It was successful.

She put some distance between us, taking some quick breaths, just looking at me.

"You don't even look tired."

"I'm not."

"Hah."

We'd been up to this for a while now, I can't even remember how long.

But to put it in perspective, Ibuki can handle a workout I put together for her that lasts an hour and a half on a good day while only feeling a bit tired.

She was tired now, so it'd be fair to say at least an hour has passed.

"Want to stop?" I asked.

"...Once more."
