"How's Horikita doing?"

There were some murmurs from the class as Hirata asked me this, clearly worried.

"It's nothing too bad, just a sprained ankle, although it's unlikely she'll be able to compete in the following events, I was told it all depends on how well she recovers."

Hirata sighed, relieved.

"To be fair, I probably worried a couple of you with how I reacted." I mumbled, rubbing the back of my head.

"No, we understand, the crash looked pretty bad."

I nodded back.

"So what event was next?" I asked.

"The three-legged race."

"Alright. Listen up everyone! Horikita-chan may not be able to return due to an ankle injury, so let's all do our best to live up to her!"

"YEAAAAAAH!"

I smiled as we started making our way to the next event.

In the first heat, I put Sudo with Ayanokoji, because I know Ayanokoji will at least be able to keep pace with the hothead. There's also the fact that I know he'll just pace himself to match his partner, so if he was paired with someone who sucks at something like this, well then, you get it.

Hirata, who I paired with Ike since they're similar in height, and Hirata will be able to pace himself properly with Ike, ended up working incredibly well.

Ike seemed to have a natural ability at working with Hirata, under the condition that he think it'll make him more likeable.

Sudo and Ayanokoji, Hirata and Ike, and eventually Koenji and I all got first place in the races.

We ended up getting a penalty when it was the girls' turn though, since Horikita wasn't here to pair up with Kushida for this race.

We decided to risk taking the penalty instead of coughing up 100 thousand private points.

I did notice that those two girls from class C were paired up in this heat.

Oh, wait no, one of the two girls, and Ibuki. That other girl is still in that tent.

I wonder if Ibuki was a substitute or not...

That's another strange occurrence, since class C doesn't exactly look like they're annoyed at having to cough up 100 thousand.

Although it's also possible only Ryuen would know of such a thing, having complete control of his class and all.

We were given a ten minute break at the end of the girl's three-legged race, and I smiled as I stretched skyward.

I started walking over to the tents class A was staying under, and smiled down at the girl who was calmly reading a book.

"How's it going?" I asked.

"Good, you were certainly off in a rush."

"Well, something came up."

She rolled her eyes, patting the chair next to her, and I complied.

"Since there are others here as well, I'm assuming you've been given a break?"

"Yeah, a ten minute one."

"Shouldn't you be drinking water then?"

"Mm, not thirsty, just girlfriend deprived. I needa recharge."

She giggled.

"You're still sweaty, and smell... but fine."

I leaned over, kissing her cheek, before resting my head on her shoulder, reading her book with her.
