Shizukana POV:
"Do you see yourself as someone who's a subject of losing?"
"Depends on what you meant by that, I suppose."
"Shizukana-kun, you know what he means."
I felt a smile slip onto my face.
Horikita has been much more open with me after I cleared things up with Nagumo. He's taking things in a better mood, something that's not noticeable by many.
"To answer your question, senpai, of course I see myself in such a way. Whether it be losing in something I meticulously planned for, or losing something important to me."
I glanced down.
"Yes... I too am a subject of 'losing' as you put it. In order to gain things, you need to losing something in return."
"How would you feel about losing a bit more?"
"Depends on what it is."
The way he said that was strange, and I glanced back at Nagumo, who was looking towards Horikita.
The older student nodded his head, before Nagumo looked back at me.
"I was talking with Horikita-senpai, and we believe that you're best suited for the job. What I'm asking from you is to cut down on your time spent in the Archery club."
I tilted my head, turning around so we were facing each other.
He wouldn't ask such a thing out of nowhere, add on the fact that Horikita approves and I must admit this has more than earned my attention.
"In light of the school year thus far, I'm planning on proposing the establishment of a Disciplinary Committee. Though not to the extent of forcing others to wear their uniforms correctly. The main focus of this group will be matters that are typically brought forth to the Student Council regarding backhanded activities."
So a group put up to deal with things like the incident where Sudo got into a fight, to make sure school rules aren't twisted.
"Acting as a resolver... or a mediator?"
To resolve a conflict would be to stop such a thing from happening in the moment, or take steps to make sure such a conflict never happens.
A mediator on the other hand would allow the conflict to happen, while taking a stance of neutrality and distributing punishment as seen fit.
That's how I would interpret my Disciplinary Committee to act.
"Either or, depending on the situation perhaps even both."
I glanced over at Horikita.
"You think this is a good idea as well?"
"I do. It will lessen the load of the Student Council, and will help settle unnecessary disputes. Not to mention, in the last (nearly) 3 years now, such disputes have been on the rise."
I nodded, keeping his words in mind.
I should be able to do so.
If I study more diligently during the school hours, then I won't need to after classes are over, opening up roughly an hour each day of the week.
If I reduce the amount of time I spend practicing Archery, taking into account the fact that I'll officially be the Head of the Archery Club soon, it might be a difficult work-around.
"Interesting, I would impose some conditions."
"Naturally. You will be the one determining the effects of this Committee, I just provided you with a rough sketch of what is wanted."
