Hearing a knock at my door, I stopped what I was doing, glancing over towards it.
As much as I'd like to continue with my project, there's a possibility of this being serious.
Thinking this, I walked over to my door and opened it, revealing a pair that I would've never expected to see together.
"Ah, Yu-chan, hello." I greeted, smiling cheerily.
"Yu-chan?" Ayanokoji questioned, glancing down at the girl beside him.
Wang Mei-Yu. A small girl from our class who probably would've been better fit for class B, someone who's not seen negatively by many, if any.
"Ah, how embarrassing." She mumbled, glancing to the side.
There was a bit of pink on her face, based off of Ayanokoji's expression as well, it appears she no longer goes by what I'd called her.
In truth, we hadn't interacted for a couple of months, it appears I've fallen behind somewhat.
"Sorry, do you no longer go by that?" I questioned.
She shook her hands out in front of her, denying my words.
"No no! I have no qualms with still being called that by you and Onodera-chan, but I go my Mii-chan now."
"I see."
I stepped aside, opening the door wider.
"I apologize for the mess, but I'm assuming you both came here to talk?"
"She wanted to talk somewhere private, where she feels like she could relax. I don't think either of us were comfortable going to the other's room, so I suggested to come here."
If it was suggested to come here, does that mean that I was the only one available? If they just wanted someone they can both be comfortable around I feel like Hirata would be a better fit. When it comes to our own class he has better relationships with everyone.
I smiled happily.
"Sure! Come on in."
"Ah, thank you."
The two walked inside, and I took out a doorstop to keep the door open to help them be more at ease.
They both took a seat at the table within the kitchen, and I'd joined them.
"So what is this about?" I asked.
"I'm not entirely sure yet." Ayanokoji mumbled.
Wang realized what he was hinting at, and took a breath to compose herself.
"It's... it's about Hirata-kun."
Oh?
"I was hoping you'd tell me a few things about him."
"You know, Hirata and I aren't actually that close with each other." Ayanokoji interjected.
I glanced over at my friend.
Did he really believe that? He's one of the very few people Hirata can relax and have a normal conversation around.
Though, based on how Hirata acts, it's entirely likely this is something Ayanokoji just hasn't realized.
"Eh? But I was told that you were the most level-headed person in the class. If I wanted a clear and honest response to a question then I should ask you."
I felt my face heat up a bit as I glanced away, seeing where this was going.
"Hm? Who said that?"
There was a silence that followed soon after, but I could tell the two were now looking at me.
