"It seems we'll be splitting up right away." I mumbled, tapping Horikita on the shoulder to get her to walk with me.
We were still on the bus, but after hearing our teacher explain that we were almost at our destination, and that we'll have to turn in our phones, I decided to do something important.
She chose to abide, standing up to walk behind me to where Kushida was sitting.
I smiled kindly at who was next to Kushida.
"Inogashira-chan, is it okay if we steal Kushida-chan for a moment?" I asked the brunette.
Inogashira, upon hearing my words, turned a bit red as she looked back at me.
"Y-you know my name?" She asked, seeming a bit embarrassed.
I tilted my head.
"Of course I know your name, you're my classmate, it would be rude of me to not know it."
"Oh, I see, it's just, not many people remembered it, and we've yet speak to each other before."
Her words slowly grew quieter, and I understood that she felt as though she were making a fool of herself, so I spoke up quickly to make sure to distract her from that feeling.
"Of course. I understand that, but at the same time one of the reasons I care so much about this class is because I want to keep you all safe, of course I'd take care in getting to know you all so that I know everyone is worthy of my protection."
She stared at me with some sort of admiration, before nodding.
"I see, thank you. Ah! You said you wanted to speak with Kushida-chan right? Of course. May I take the seat you were at previously?" She asked.
I smiled back.
"Of course."
She nodded again, smiling to me as she stood up, and walked past where Horikita and I made space for her.
I stood aside for Horikita to sit next to Kushida, who'd been silent so far.
Once Horikita did, she looked up at me, Kushida copying the gaze.
The gaze confused me, so I tilted my head.
"Pardon?"
"Womanizer." Horikita commented.
"Eh?"
I didn't mean to lead the girl on, I was just being nice.
Don't tell me that's all I need to do to get into someone's heart?
Something like love, a drug that could get someone high simply from a look in the eyes.
Something like that, which I can only feel around someone I've gotten to know plenty, and have gotten closer to and shared many romantic experiences with?
Perhaps I should change my manner of speaking? If that is all it takes to get such a wonderfully poisonous thing such as love to infect another's mind, I need to be more careful.
"Totally." Kushida sighed out.
I rolled my eyes, talking in a lower voice so that it was more difficult for people to hear us if they listened in, deciding to put my current thoughts on hold for the moment.
"On the other hand, we should make a schedule for you Kushida, since Horikita will be the only one you can interact with for the majority of this week."
Horikita nodded, having clearly noticed that as well.
"I agree, that is something we should discuss."
