Title:
The title is truly magnificent. I have to say that it fits perfectly with what I've already read of thestory, the dark themes that are addressed, the lens through which you treat the subject.Everything fits perfectly on this side, so that's already an excellent point. In addition, it is a verystriking title. It immediately announces the content of what we are about to read and can almostmake us shiver while reading, especially when it is mentioned directly in the story. What I findreally special about it is that we already feel the tragedy behind this title but, more than that, wehave the idea of a terrible resignation. "Watch the World Rot" means that we are preparing to beeither passive spectators or helpless spectators of a real carnage to which, in both cases, thecharacters will be unable to do anything. It's a bit like a cry of misery, the plea of the damnedwho see a terrible destiny approaching them. Overall, it has a very dramatic side and it matchesthe style you have adopted. Above all, it is an idea of fate that is looming, no salvation is to behoped for, it is their destiny: that the world burns and rots.
Cover:
This cover is special to me in the sense that it effectively hits the senses with its title written invery large letters, distorted like dancing flames, or air under the influence of heat, tremblingdesperately. It is at the same time an idea of terror that I find in this title thus displayed, like aswirling threat which cannot escape the eyes of anyone and cannot be ignored in all itsignominy, shocking the gaze, letters of blood written on the horizon, flowing, flowing like thatof the dead which will accumulate between the pages of the open book below, from which thistitle came.
The title has become real, it has come out of the book as if to tell us that it will cometo life to haunt our nights, our days and our lives to inscribe on our retinas its grimacing anddistorted font like a precocious child born too early and destined to die painfully in a hideousspectacle before our eyes, dragging us with him into his disgusting torture. It feels like a visceralfear and seems, to me, like the unleashed cries of millions of dying people, screaming, screamingfrom their agonizing throats the last breath of a life left in suffering while the world collapsesbeneath all these cries embodied in this title which crushes the entire page, poorly formed, collapsing on itself, on the verge of falling, of sinking.
The colors are just as striking, anexplosion of red, orange, black contrasting with a white light, the one that imprints the book. It'sas if I'm watching a house burning as the flames of the fire take over it, consuming everything intheir path, while the white flashes of life that could be found there still pass in front of my eyes. The smoke takes shape in scarlet exhalations, bloody breaths and broken glass of lives destined tofall into a thousand pieces. A small inscription is visible, like a last thought emanating from thecarnage which gives substance to what may pass through us, a cloud of smoke still visible, "stuckin the midst of an apocalypse, what hope is left?". This seems to come directly from the verycharacteristic thoughts of the main character which I will talk about in more detail later.
Blurb:
The summary starts well but I find it too long and I have the feeling that it does not sufficientlysummarize the completely unique spirit of your book. I particularly love the quote at thebeginning because it truly symbolizes the suffering that each character will feel, without us evenknowing who Alina is talking about.I noticed a few mistakes in this passage. "Before it began she'd been a normal teenager in aRussian city, enjoying rebellious life with her closest friend and brother: Sofiya and Nikolay.Though the disease spread like wildfire, and before they knew it Anadyr had been overran byzombies that would stop at nothing." I think you should put "a rebellious life" and, to make thesentence a little clearer, you should also put "her closest friend and her brother".
