The promise of always has been an extremely romantic concept to me

The vows we traditionally make during weddings

The promises we make in between bedsheets drunk off one another

I don't know 

To me saying Always was the most selfless, kind form that love could come in

I will love you 

I will protect you

I will stay with you

Always

Always

Even if you don't feel that intense passion anymore

Even if you can't like this person anymore

 You have vowed to love them always

To me that promise sounded like something out of a storybook because I had never seen that kind of love

Real and giving

To put one person above your wants and needs and to hold them above all others for the rest of your life

God, I hope I find my always
