Some loves come with a price
Sometimes you think you need to earn it
Sometimes that love hurts
People yell at you
People treat you badly
But because you still want them
Or who you think you can turn them into
You keep trying
You keep making effort
You keep texting and calling
Doing any and everything you can to keep them happy even though you are dying on the inside
Then one day you wake up
And you look at your father dead in this face and think, "I will never be good enough for you."
Love like that is a double-edged sword
It hurts to give up
But it hurts just as much to keep on loving them.
