It's a pillow I cling to while sitting down
Oversized clothes
Wear black and greys
Nothing flashy
Nothing that could be construed as offensive
Because we all know being fat in this life is offensive enough
We hide while standing right in front of you
All we want is to disappear
Melt away like seafoam
Away from prying, judgemental eyes
The world isn't kind to those it sees as different
Deems undesirable
It's the subtle comments
It's having to shop online just to buy a top that fits
It's being a kid and only being able to wear sweatpants because no stores carry your size
It's going to the pediatrician for sudden hair loss and being sent to a dietitian instead of being taken seriously
It's being told that you'd be pretty if
It's knowing that the boys you look at would never look at you
It's being laughed at
It's the clothes you say are styled oversized that are too small
It's being the butt of every joke and being expected to laugh
People looking at your stretchmarks and asking how you got cut
It's people always giving you the leftover food even though you've said you are full
It's never eating in front of others
It's sneaking into the kitchen to eat when you're six because your parents put you on a diet
It's crying because your dad bought you a treadmill for your birthday
Being humiliated when your parents make you exercise
Not being able to match with your sister any more
Not being allowed to borrow clothes because you'll stretch them out
Being called names
Always picked last in sports
Left behind on walks because you're slow
You don't matter
They don't care if you here
All because you're fat
