The captive's voice trembled as they spoke, their fear palpable. "Department K... they're connected to the Shei Hassaikai." They stammered, their eyes darting nervously around the room.
Katsuki's eyes narrowed at the mention of the infamous criminal syndicate. "Go on," He urged, his tone firm but controlled.
"The Shei Hassaikai... they've been working with Department K for years" The captive continued, their voice barely above a whisper. "They... They share resources, information, manpower... everything."
Katsuki's mind raced with the implications of this revelation. If Department K was collaborating with the Shei Hassaikai, it meant that their reach extended far beyond what he had initially imagined.
"Who are the higher ups in this alliance?" Katsuki pressed, his voice tight with urgency.
The captive hesitated, their fear evident as they struggled to find the words. "I- I don't know names," They admitted, their voice trembling. "But there are... high-ranking members of Department K who have... close ties to the Shei Hassaikai. They... They're the ones calling the shots"
Katsuki absorbed this information, his mind racing with possibilities. If he played his cards right, he could potentially disrupt the alliance between Department K and the Shei Hassaikai, dealing a significant blow to both organizations.
If only he had the connections to go against such a big organization. He may be immortal, but Department K was already a big mission. He couldn't take on the Shei Hassaikai alone.
"Dammit" He quietly cursed, reaching for his pistol. The captive immediately started the usual spheal of sobbing, screaming, and pleading.
Bang.
With a frustrated groan, Katsuki kicked the body. He stormed out of the building, stomping on the corpses littering the ground as he did. Damn bastards had to be working with such a big organization. Last he checked, they were bigger than the League.
「Well... When in Rome...」
Katsuki clenched his jaw as he contemplated his next move. He knew that making a deal with the League of Villains would be risky, but he also knew that they had the power and resources he needed to take down Department K once and for all. With a determined resolve, he made a decision: he would meet with them in person.
"Teskai's answering service, how may I help you?"
"Stop answering the phone like that, it's weird"
"You secretly love it" His informant said with a laugh. "How may I be of service?"
Katsuki hesitated for a moment. "You got a way to contact the League?"
"...What?"
"Do you or do you not"
"Bak- Do you realize what you're asking? The League of Villains? Are you insane?"
"Department K is working with the Shie Hassaikai. The League is the best shot I have. Do you have a way to contact them or not?"
"I'll... I'll see what I can do. You sure?"
"I'm fucking sure. Let me know when you get in contact, I wanna make a deal"
Teskai murmured things under his breath, too quiet for Katsuki to properly hear, but after a moment, the teen caved. "Fine"
"Good"
The streets were shrouded in darkness as Katsuki made his way through the city, his footsteps echoing against the pavement with each determined stride. The night air was cool against his skin, a sharp contrast to the fire burning within him as he approached Teskai's apartment.
He'd rather be in person to watch this go down. Getting the boy to agree over the phone didn't mean it'd go that well.
As he reached the rundown building, Katsuki's gaze swept over the dilapidated facade, taking in the flickering lights and peeling paint. It was a far cry from the sleek and polished hideouts of heroes, but for Teskai, it was home. Katsuki's home away from home, too now that he thought about it.
Katsuki ascended the creaking staircase, adjusting his suit and holstering his gun once he realized he was still holding it. Finally, he reached Teskai's door and raised a hand to knock, the sound echoing through the quiet hallway.
After a moment, the door swung open to reveal Teskai standing in the doorway, his expression a mix of surprise and dismay as he took in Katsuki's arrival.
"...Deadpool" Teskai greeted him, his voice tinged with defeat. The teen only called him by his alter ego in two situations: when they weren't alone and.... when he couldn't bare to associate an idea with the person behind the mask.
"I really need your help" He uncharacteristically told him. "I've only got you. You're my only link"
Teskai's eyes widened at the admission. He stepped aside to allow Katsuki entry into his messy apartment.
As Katsuki entered, he was greeted by the familiar sight of Teskai's cluttered workspace, the air filled with the hum of computers and the faint glow of monitors.
Katsuki moved to stand next to Teskai's desk, his eyes fixed on the screen as Teskai finished locating a way to contact the League, his fingers flying across the keyboard with practiced ease.
Pulling off his mask and ruffling his hair, he took in the complex web of tabs, windows, and desktops that Teskai was navigating through.
This stuff was like damn hieroglyphics to him.
