Screw the timeline

Defeating Francis and leaving the cleanup had been the end of it. Well... The end of his mission.

The League still needed him to finish helping them take down those Shie Hassaikai bastards.

So Katsuki sat at the worn-out bar in the League's hideout, surrounded by the familiar faces of the members. Dabi sat on the counter, refusing to sit on a stool, Magne was perched on the seat adjacent to hin, and Twice fiddled with a deck of cards.

Shigaraki's voice broke the silence from a few seats over. "We've got intel on the Shie Hassaikai. They've got something we can use as leverage. Or rather, someone."

Katsuki raised an eyebrow. "Who?"

"Eri. She's crucial to their operations"

Dabi grinned. "A rescue mission? Count me in if I get free range"

Katsuki frowned, his mind racing as he ignored Dabi's comments. "What's so special about her?"

Shigaraki nodded towards a stack of papers on the counter. "She's got a quirk that can rewind time. They're using her for experiments. We take her, we not only deal a blow to them but also gain an ally."

Magne held a hand up. "And you think she'll just join us willingly?"

Shigaraki shrugged. "We free her first. Then we see"

Katsuki paused for a moment. He knew what it was like to be used, to be trapped in a situation beyond your control. "Alright. What's the plan?"

Spinner leaned in, his eyes glinting. "We need to infiltrate their main base. It's heavily guarded, but we've already got someone on the inside"

Katsuki nodded, already visualizing the mission in his mind. "Toga?"

Shigaraki smirked. "Toga"

Katsuki sighed. "Of course"

Shigaraki smirked behind the hand on his face. 'Father' or something. "We move in two days. Be ready."

As the meeting broke up, Katsuki couldn't shake the image of a frightened little girl trapped in the clutches of the Shie Hassaikai. He would rescue her, not just for the League, but for the sake of his sanity. The thought of an innocent child suffering as he had was unbearable.

Department K's experiments had come willingly, regardless of whether they wanted to stay. Katsuki had chosen to go with Jiang.

Eri obviously wasn't given that choice, she was a child.

Two days later, those coming for the mission assembled outside the Shie Hassaikai compound.

Katsuki's heart pounded in his chest, adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"We go in silent," Shigaraki whispered. "Once inside, we split up. Deadpool, you find Eri. Toga will find you. Dabi and I will handle the distraction"

Dabi grinned, blue flames flickering on his fingertips. "Fun"

They moved with practiced precision, slipping through the shadows and bypassing security. Inside, the air was thick with tension. Katsuki descended into the basement, his footsteps silent.

Navigating the corridors, he encountered minimal resistance thanks to Dabi and Shigaraki's diversions. When reached a heavy metal door, and Katsuki's heart skipped a beat. He knew Eri was on the other side.

He fumbled with the lock, assessing it's components. Despite having a wide range of skills, lock picking wasn't one of them.

Katsuki pulled out a handgun and shot the lock twice. The door shook, the force of the point blank bullets breaking through the lock.

The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit room. In the corner, a frail, white-haired girl huddled in fear.

Katsuki approached slowly, his voice gentle. "Eri, we're here to help you. You gotta trust me"

Eri's wide, terrified eyes observer his form, catching on his weapons. Katsuki sighed, reaching up and pulling up his mask. He smiled at her.

"You'll be safe with me. Do you wanna see my sword? It's pretty cool"

She didn't respond immediately, but eventually nodded. He unsheathed one of his swords. These ones were impractical, but they were pretty. Engraved designs and Imbedded gemstones made these two the perfect pair for this mission.

He'd spent a pretty penny on these, despite how impractical they were.

Eri hesitantly reached out and ran a finger over the flat side of the blade. The bedazzled sword seemed to captivate her.

"Let's go bef–"

Boom!

Katsuki sighed loudly. Dabi really needed to learn self restraint.
