In the dim light of the room, Katsuki moved with precision, each step soundless as he closed in on Genda. The man barely had a chance to register the shift in the air before it was over. A flash of silver, a glint of red, and silence reclaimed the space.
Genda’s body slumped over, eyes wide with a shock that'd forever remain. Katsuki’s gaze lingered for only a moment before he scoffed, his movements as controlled as ever.
What a bastard.
Katsuki then leaned against the wall, cleaning his knife as Keiko adjusted herself in the nearby mirror. Her lipstick was carefully smudged, and she mussed her hair with a quick, frustrated hand. She shot him a glare, her eyes narrowing as she worked to make her appearance look convincingly 'used'.
"Just so we’re clear" She muttered, her tone low and laced with irritation, "This is a one-time thing. Next time you need someone charmed, find someone else"
Katsuki gave a low chuckle, slipping his knife back into its sheath. "You did good. Genda never saw it coming"
Keiko rolled her eyes, scoffing as she bunched her dress to wrinkle it. "I don’t care if I was perfect; I’m not a whore for hire, I’m a goddamn blacksmith. I swear if Mitsuru finds out about this…" She let out a frustrated huff, muttering under her breath about 'fat bastards' and 'morons with too much money.'
He shrugged, unbothered. "Could’a fooled me. He was practically eating out of your hand"
She shot him a pointed look, lips twisted in a grimace. "Never again. I won't care if you’re my last damn friend on Earth dying in a ditch. I’ll forge you a thousand weapons, but I’m not seducing another goddamn scumbag" She took a final look in the mirror, ensuring her 'disheveled' appearance was just right before turning to him with a fierce look.
"Noted" He replied, a smirk on his face. "Besides, you’re no good to me if you’re always fuming"
Keiko rolled her eyes but couldn’t fully hide the slight grin tugging at her lips. "Let’s get out of here before I decide to gut you and send your remains to your loved ones"
"Right behind you" Katsuki hummed, letting her take the lead.
Keiko emerged into the main hall, her disheveled look drawing glances almost immediately. She caught sight of a pro hero who’d been posted nearby. Letting her lips curl into a coy smile, she drifted over, raising a hand to her head as if she were exhausted.
"'Cuse me" Katsuki heard her say, her voice low and a bit breathless. "Would you mind escorting me out? It’s been a long night"
The hero raised an blushed but offered a courteous smile. "Of course, miss" As he led her to the exit, his gaze lingered just a little too long, clearly assuming she’d been in Genda’s company for entirely different reasons than she had been.
What an idiot. Katsuki wanted to punch the hero for even thinking that about her, but it was necessary to keep up the act. Keiko knew what she was doing.
Keiko leaned into her role, her steps just the slightest bit wobbly as if she were worn out. Her satisfaction was barely hidden as she reached the exit, casting one last glance over her shoulder as if to seal the scene. The hero nodded politely before turning back to the gala, none the wiser.
She smirked to herself, disappearing into the night, Katsuki joining her very quickly.
"See? Easy" Katsuki said.
She shot him a glare, shaking her head. "Don’t even start"
