As the weeks turned into months, Katsuki's training under Toshiro had continued to progress, each day bringing new challenges and opportunities for growth. Under the watchful eye of his new mentor, he'd mastered his combat skills to razor-sharp precision, pushing himself to the limits of his abilities in pursuit of perfection.
But as time had worn on, Katsuki had begun to sense a change in Toshiro, a restlessness that seemed to weigh heavily on his shoulders. Their training sessions became less frequent, and the once-vibrant spark in the older man's eyes had begun to dim with each passing day.
One fateful evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and cast long shadows across the dojo, Toshiro called Katsuki to his side with a somber expression on his face. "There's something I must tell you, my young apprentice" He said, his voice grave with an unspoken emotion.
Katsuki's heart skipped a beat as he listened intently, sensing the weight of his mentor's words before they even left his lips. "I've received word of an opportunity that I cannot ignore" Toshiro continued, his gaze distant as if lost in thought. "It calls me to a distant land, where my skills are needed"
A pang of sadness washed over Katsuki as he realized the implications of his mentor's words. His mentor was leaving, his time with Katsuki drawing to a close sooner than either of them had anticipated. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but Katsuki knew that he had to respect his mentor's decision.
With a heavy heart, Katsuki sighed. "I understand"
Toshiro shook his head, his weathered face creased with a bittersweet smile. "You have grown into a formidable warrior, young one" He said, his voice tinged with pride. "I don't have much more to teach you anyway. Only experience can give you the courage to truly pull the trigger"
And with that, Toshiro turned and walked away, disappearing into the darkness with a sense of finality that left Katsuki feeling strangely hollow. As he watched his mentor depart, Katsuki knew that he had to carry on alone, forging his own path in a world fraught with danger and uncertainty.
He bowed deeply in the direction the man had left, even though his mentor was long gone. "Thank you"
After that, Katsuki had picked himself back up and moved on. Department K was still standing, so he could too.
Using Toshiro's lessons, Katsuki began to purge the underworld, getting rid of trash while he collected information on his foe.
It wasn't an easy job, but he was the only one doing it. It was justice. Justice for all the victims, sacrifices, and pollution.
That's right, he was just serving justice.
His mind drifted back to the days of his intensive training under Toshiro, the mentor who had shaped him into the warrior he had become. Memories of their time together flooded his thoughts, each moment etched with the lessons learned and the bonds forged.
But as the memories faded, Katsuki returned to the present, his gaze sharpening with renewed focus. The past was behind him, a testament to the journey that had brought him to this point. With a deep breath, he pushed aside his nostalgia, ready to face the challenges of the present and the unknown trials that awaited him in the future.
A notification pinged on his phone, drawing his attention back to the task at hand. It was a message from Teskai, his trusted informant and ally in the world of underground dealings.
Curiosity piqued, Katsuki opened the message to find a new job offer from Teskai, detailing a lucrative opportunity that promised both danger and reward. Despite the risks involved, Katsuki's instincts told him that this was an opportunity he couldn't afford to pass up.
He needed the money. He couldn't have his parents finding out what he was doing, after all.
With a grim smile, he replied to Teskai, accepting the job. The path ahead was uncertain, but Katsuki was ready to face whatever challenges lay in store.
With Teskai at his side, he was not alone in his quest for justice.
Yeah, justice.
