I despised writing this. My notes made it seem so easy. It was not.
When he managed to climb up, there was Francis, leisurely leaning against a shipping container.
"Motherfucker, you put Mr through a lot of trouble" He grit out, standing.
Francis ignored him. "You grow back body parts now? When I'm finished, parts'll have to grow back you"
"Good one. Yeah, that was a good one. Let's dance!"
Francis reached over and grabbed two metal axes. They reflected the cloudy sky, they looked mighty sharp.
Unsheathing his own twin swords, Katsuki charged forward. He brought one up to block the incoming blow, slashing with the other.
His move was parried so he tried again, meeting his mark this time. Francis's arm was cut, bleeding.
The man had no reaction, as if he couldn't feel it. It was weird, Katsuki always knew when he was cut. Immortality didn't stop pain.
Blocking the incoming axe, he was forced to parry. Spinning, he landed another slash. Francis blocked the next one, headbutting him after.
Katsuki stumbled, dropping one of his swords. He grit his teeth, kicking the bastard.
His final sword made its way back through the air, quickly blocking the next blow. Unfortunately, a two to one ratio of weapons put him at a disadvantage. One of the axes managed to skip past, cutting his shoulder.
Before he could he further react, one of the axes slammed into his back, the force crashing him into a container. Katsuki quickly rolled away from the second axe that had been heading for his skull.
The axe got stuck in the metal container, allowing him enough time to angle his sword into the bastard's thigh.
A strong kick sent him flying into another shipping container. Francis got the axe back out of the metal wall, chucking it at him.
「Why were there so many containers on an abandoned ship? For the plot, of course.」
Katsuki quickly centered himself and caught the weapon. Rather than keep it to use, throwing it back seemed like a better option.
Francis blocked, the weapon bouncing off of its twin and clattering across the boat's deck. The second axe was sent through the air and Katsuki knew better than to catch.
The angle was all wrong.
So he sidestepped. somehow not noticing Francis until a foot was in his chest. He held his ground this time, allowing Francis to be the one knocked back.
Stepping forward, Katsuki threw a punch, 'tisk'ing when it was blocked. The bastard had the gall to kick him again.
This time, however, Katsuki was knocked back. Quickly steadying himself, he tilted to send a kick back.
Francis was ready, however. The man grabbed onto him, tossing Katsuki across the deck. Letting out a wheeze, he quickly got back up. Only to be punched back down with a devastating force. He couldn't avoid the second fist, but he managed to roll away from the third.
A knife was unsheathed, yet instead of using it, Francis kicked at him. He managed to narrowly dodge, moving to grab the bastard.
He was kneed in the chest, knocking the wind out of him, but managed to keep his grip. Katsuki adjusted his angle until he was mostly behind the man. He tore at Francis's face stretching the skin.
The man definitely had the upper hand on strength, somehow bucking him off and throwing Katsuki into a container.
He was really getting sick of these goddamn containers.
「I'm just following orders, I promise!" The author cries, on his hands and knees.」
He landed near one of his swords, thankfully, so he began to crawl to it. Francis had other plans, obviously, as he ran over. The knife Katsuki hadn't bothered to remember was mercilessly stabbed right into the side of his head.
Spots and stars filled his vision as Francis began to beat him. When he got kneed, he let the momentum bring him into reach of his sword.
In one fluid movement, Katsuki grabbed the sword and ran it through Francis's chest. The man fell, taking the sword with him.
Katsuki fumbled with the knife in his head, but collapsed against the deck. He watched through half-closed eyes as Francis stood back up.
Francis pulled the sword out, seemingly unfazed. Katsuki closed his eyes briefly as he revived, again. He'd gotten good at keeping his eyes open between quick revivals, but sometimes he had to blink, y'know?
Regardless, he got to his feet, yanking out the knife. The world returned to normal. He went to charge at Francis, but was thrown off balance.
Boom!
There was a deafening roar. A blinding flash of light erupted from below, illuminating everything in an instant. The explosion was cataclysmic, a wave of force that ripped through the ship.
The blast wave surged upwards, obliterating everything in its path. The very air seemed to ignite, radiating outwards as the explosion's core consumed the lower part. Metal groaned and twisted, the ship's skeletal structure warping under the intense pressure.
The force of the explosion hurled debris in all directions, shards of metal flying like deadly shrapnel.
Katsuki felt the ground beneath him start to give way, the floor collapsing into the inferno below. He was thrown off his feet, the ship's remains quickly tilting with a shuddering groan.
Francis lunged at him with a punch and he simply blocked it with his arms. Katsuki kicked the man back just before a shipping container came barreling through. It took Francis with it as it slid off the ship.
The tilt was too high to stay standing, forcing him to slide down to the edge. He held onto it.
...This was going well.
