Cipher's movements were shaking as he furiously typed in commands, eyes darting from the terminal to the flashing red lights above. The alarms blared louder, a cacophony of screeching noise that echoed through the hallways. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he scrolled through layer after layer of security protocols, trying to find some way to deactivate the system.
"Come on, come on..." Katsuki heard the hero mutter through gritted teeth, frustration bleeding into his voice. Every failed attempt brought more anxiety, and with each passing second, the sound of gunfire and bloodshed all around grew louder.
Meanwhile, Katsuki was in his element.
The guards who rushed toward him were little more than moving targets. Katsuki dodged their attacks with effortless agility, his movements so fast that their bullets whizzed harmlessly past him. His swords cut through the air, slicing flesh and bone with savage precision. He moved like a whirlwind of death, the crimson light reflecting off his blood-streaked blades.
A grin spread beneath his mask, his heart pounding with the thrill of the fight. Each kill sent a surge of adrenaline through his veins, and with every slash, every spray of blood, he felt more alive.
One guard lunged at him with a quirk charged baton, but Katsuki easily sidestepped the swing, grabbing the man by the collar and slamming him into the nearest wall. The sickening crack of bones breaking echoed through the hallway, followed by a gurgled scream as Katsuki's sword found its mark.
He pulled the blade free, wiping the blood off on the thug's coat. "Is 'at all you got?" He taunted, laughing gleefully as he shoved one of his twin blades back into it's sheath, swapping it out for a pistol.
Another group of guards charged forward, this time armed with more firepower. Katsuki's eyes gleamed as he ducked beneath a barrage of gunfire, his body moving with effortless grace as he closed the distance between him and his enemies. His blade slashed through the air, cutting through armor and flesh alike.
Behind him, Cipher frantically typed into the security console, trying to tune out the chaos and violence unfolding just feet away. The sound of bones snapping and bodies hitting the ground made him nauseous, but he forced himself to focus. He couldn't afford to lose his concentration now.
"This is insane..." Cipher practically cried, his voice barely audible over the alarms. "He's insane"
Fingers flew across the keyboard, bypassing firewalls and encryption layers as fast as he could. But every time he thought he was close, another layer of security blocked his way.
Katsuki ignored the hero, switching stances to use his gun instead. Shots echoed, blending in with his opponents' own. Screams were cut short as his bullets hit true.
"Got it!" Cipher finally shouted triumphantly as the screen flickered. The blaring alarms suddenly cut off, and the red lights dimmed, plunging the hallway into an eerie silence.
Katsuki's grin didn't fade as he tried to regain his breath. He looked over his shoulder at Cipher, not bothering to wipe the blood from his face. "Took you long enough"
Cipher stumbled back from the terminal, his face pale as he stared at the bodies strewn across the floor. The hallway was littered with the remnants of the guards. Broken, bloodied, motionless. They were all dead, piled up in haphazard mountains.
"You... you killed them all" Cipher whispered, his voice trembling.
Katsuki shrugged, spinning his gun around by it's trigger. "What'd you expect? A slap on the wrist?"
Cipher shook his head, his mind struggling to process the carnage. "This... This wasn't a rescue. This was a massacre"
Katsuki's smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "What's the difference?"
Cipher stared at him in disbelief, clearly trying to comprehend how someone could be so casual about the violence, about the bloodshed. Heroes fight villains too, but this... this was something else entirely.
「Something better.」
Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway, signaling the arrival of even more reinforcements. Katsuki straightened up, his fingers tightening around his pistol's grip.
"Looks like we've got more company" He said, his voice tinged with a euphoric hype. "Stay out of my way."
Cipher's stomach seemed to have enough as Katsuki turned back toward the incoming guards, ready to dive into the fray once again. He could hear the hero retching dramatically.
So sensitive, Katsuki couldn't imagine how the hero had kept strong. Probably didn't, the bastard probably gave away all sorts of secrets. Either way, the real fight was just beginning.
