The heavy, reinforced doors of the facility loomed ahead, a cold, metallic reminder of the fact that Katsuki was walking straight into enemy territory. The air was thick with the tension of anticipation, his heart pounding with a mixture of adrenaline and anger. This wasn't just any mission. They had Teskai.
His only goal now was to tear through anyone standing between him and his friend.
And tear he would.
Katsuki crouched on the rooftop overlooking the compound, surveying the guards below. They were only positioned at key points; classic, but sloppy. Their movements were predictable, and they wouldn't even know what hit them. His hands tightened around the hilt of his knife, the weight of his weapons a comforting reassurance.
The address hadn't taken long to get to, but... He really hoped he wasn't too late.
"Hold on, Teskai" Katsuki muttered under his breath. His mask hid the frown tugging at his lips.
He leaped from the rooftop, landing soundlessly in the shadow of the guard tower. He moved like a predator, his body low, steps silent. His target was just ahead, a patrol guard walking his route, completely unaware of the storm that was about to break.
In a blur, Katsuki was on him. His hand clamped over the guard's mouth while the knife found its mark in his throat. The man's body jerked, but Katsuki held firm, lowering him to the ground without a sound.
One down. A hundred more to go.
He ducked behind a stack of crates, watching the other guards move, and mapped out his next strike. There was a camera rotating slowly above the entrance. Once again, predictable. His gaze flicked to the shadows just beneath it.
Easy.
Katsuki wasted no time, darting toward the entrance just as the camera panned in the other direction. He moved quickly and efficiently, taking out the guards near the entrance one by one, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Each one was more satisfying than the last. Each one brought him one step closer to Teskai.
Inside the facility, the lighting was dim, casting long shadows that stretched down the sterile, metal hallways. Katsuki moved through them with the precision of a well-trained assassin. His breath was steady, controlled. He could hear faint murmurs from the guards stationed deeper inside, but they weren't expecting an intruder. Certainly not this quick.
He'd worked with less time before, but never this high of stakes.
He rounded a corner and came face to face with another guard. Before the man could even draw his weapon, Katsuki had already disarmed him, slamming him against the wall with a brutal force. The guard crumpled, unconscious before he hit the ground.
Katsuki's mind was racing now, every second that passed tightening the coil of rage in his chest. Where the hell was Teskai?
He plunged a knife into the unconscious guard's neck, roughly tugging it to shred the soft flesh. He wasn't talking chances.
The muffled sounds of talking caught his attention. Katsuki slowed, following the voices to another reinforced door at the end of the hall. His fists clenched at the sound of a pained groan coming from behind it. His breath hitched, the icy feeling of panic clashing with the heat of his anger.
Teskai.
Without hesitation, he planted an explosive charge on the door. The dull thud of footsteps grew louder from the other side, someone was coming to check.
Too late.
The explosion rocked the hallway, sending the door crashing inward in a cloud of smoke and debris. Katsuki stormed through the gap, gun drawn, his eyes locking on the disoriented guards inside. Teskai was tied to a chair, barely conscious, his head hanging low.
Before anyone could react, Katsuki fired. His bullets found their marks in rapid succession, dropping the guards before they had a chance to raise their weapons. One of them managed to stagger forward, a hand reaching for a nearby alarm, but Katsuki was on him in a flash, slamming him against the wall with brutal force.
The guard slumped to the ground, lifeless.
Katsuki's chest heaved with each breath, his eyes darting around the room. It was quiet now, the echo of the explosion fading. He holstered his guns and hurried to Teskai's side, cutting through the ropes binding him to the chair.
The only thing that mattered now was getting Teskai out alive. Nothing else mattered.
