AN: This is kind of an AU where Leon is the president's son and Y/N is the agent tasked with saving him.
-----------------------------------------------I blow a loose strand of hair from my face as I press the church key symbol into the lock, it all clicks and finally the gates lower, giving me access to the presidents twenty-seven year old son- if he's even here. I'm still baffled how a man older than myself got himself caught and taken to a whole different country, I know Leon S. Kennedy is a valuable asset to any enemy of the states, yet surely he's strong or smart enough to evade capture or save himself? Regardless, I'm here to help get him back home, where he can no doubt get back to being the pretty boy everyone fawns over. I step forwards, opening the church doors with a struggle, I'm immediately greeted by a beautiful stained window. I look around the pews, following the red carpet to a lever, figuring it's another one of the puzzles I pull it down, hearing something drop to my left.
"Leon?" I shout, my voice echoing around the stone walls, "I'm here to help!" I try again, ears pricking for any sounds of a struggle. There's nothing, I should've figured this won't be easy. I investigate the church until I find a ladder, then I climb upwards, seeing multiple doors where Leon could be laying dead. I slow my steps, choosing the first door as I reach for my gun. At a snails pace I inch the door open, first seeing an upturned stool and a metal tray of food scattered across the floor. Leon might not have been able to save himself, but it looks like he's been struggling against his captors. Already I'm glad he's not some damoiseau in distress. "Leon?" I try again as the door squeaks on its hinges. "Are you in here?" I search, not seeing any signs of the man I'm looking for.
I hear a masculine grunt seconds before there's a candle holder swinging for my head. I duck, narrowly avoiding it as I stumble forwards. "I'm getting out of here." Leon frustratedly says, raising it up as I hold out a hand, he looks scared yet determined to escape.
"Listen-" I begin, but he swings for me again. I'm too weak to catch it, so instead I duck once more but throw out a kick so it goes flying out of his hands. We both watch it roll across the room before his blue eyes meet mine. "Cut it out!" I shout, getting mad as he puffs out his chest and begins shuffling backwards to the door. My eyes rake him in, for once I understand why the entirety of the US is obsessed with him, but now isn't the time to be eyeing him up. At least he gives me the same reaction, his eyes widen as they slip up and down my body then his lips part, but a sudden noise from downstairs startles us both. I put my gun away, reaching out a hand for him as I soften my tone. "My name's Y/N, I'm here on the president's orders, and-" I begin as he swallows, but his suspicions and fears get the better of him. Without a second glance he turns and runs, throwing a insult over his shoulder about me 'luring him in with my looks' or something.
I sigh, shoulders slumping as I watch the empty doorway. I arch a brow, shaking my head ruefully. "At least you think I'm pretty." I huff, before storming after the handsome man. It doesn't take long to catch up to him since he's glaring out of the window, the moonlight shining on his soft jawline. "It's dangerous outside, you're strong but you've got no technique, let me handle it." I say as he continues to stare out of the window. He tenses up when I near, peeking around his arm to focus on what he's obsessed with. I spot the familiar sight of the villagers approaching, their torches like beacons in the night.
My lips thin as Leon turns to me, gulping as he speaks. "What the hell are these people? What's going on?" He mumbles, not sounding like the whiny man I expected, instead he's just scared and curious. I sigh, placing a hand on his arm as he turns to me. "My dad sent you?"
I nod, about to reply until suddenly a slicing pain almost brings me to my knees. Visions of a robed man force their way into my brain until it's over, I look to see Leon pressing a hand to his head, clearly experiencing the same thing I did. "I'm going to get you home, but you've got to follow my lead. I'm not strong like you are, but I'm smart and capable, okay?"
"I don't doubt it." Leon replies, just as the flames below flicker closer. We take separate sides of the window to hide from view. Leon clenches his fists, jaw tightening as he sneaks a look outside. "How are we getting out of here?"
I look around, seeing a gap in the ceiling. I point a finger to my lips as the villagers burst through the church doors, then I point to the ceiling. Leon nods, crouching low as he follows me around the corner. I stand, noticing there's a ladder I can't reach. "Could you boost me?" I ask. Leon's eyes widen but he nods, kneeling before linking his fingers together for me to step on. As soon as my boot makes contact he pushes upwards so I can jump and grab the ladder, except it doesn't come down easily. I grip onto it as my legs dangle, but Leon panics and grabs my waist, hand accidentally touching my ass.
"Shit, sorry." He gasps, I stifle a laugh as the ladder slowly begins to drop, then suddenly it falls down, making more noise than I would've liked. Once my feet are back on the ground I catch my breath, feeling Leon's arms tighten around me. I lean back into him, but then remember he's not here for emotional support, so I twist out of his hold and gesture for him to climb. "Shouldn't it be ladies first?" He asks, sounding a little playful. I give him a pointed look as his smile drops, then he climbs up just as I hear footsteps begin to ascend the previous ladder. I urge Leon to hurry as he reaches the floor, then he leans down and holds out a hand, I climb and take his hand at the last rung, letting him pull me up the last bit. I wipe my hands together, smiling as he watches me.
"Good work, now..." I murmur, noticing an open ledge. I rush to it, peeking my head out to look up and down, rain immediately soaks my hair but there's only one way out of here. I spot a small shed to the side, so with trained gracefulness I perch on the ledge with my feet dangling before swinging my body enough until I've got the momentum to land where I need to. I jump with a held breath, landing on the shed roof, but the tin's slippery. My hands slip and I slide down over the slanted roof, rolling on the ground before standing up. I glance up to see Leon above me, leaning over the edge with wide eyes and a dropped jaw.
"Uh, how am I supposed to copy that?" Leon calls out, the rainfall almost drowning out his voice. I look around, spotting some rope. I grab it, tossing it up to Leon who catches it with ease, then he nods. For a second he disappears before throwing it back over, but it only covers half of the wall. "I...can I...this is insane." Leon calls out, gripping the rope as he climbs out of the window. I watch with worry, not blinking as he uses the wall to scale downwards. When he reaches the end of it he gives me a panicked look.
"You're going to have to jump!"
"No way." He retorts.
"Yeah way! It's not like I can catch you, so try to tuck and roll." I shout back. He dangles there like a trapped kitten, before finally he lets go. He doesn't take my advice so the landing's rough, but I throw myself forwards and catch his head in my hands before it slams against the floor. He swears a few times, sitting up as I kneel next to him and assess for damage. He waves me off, only having a few cuts and bruises forming.
"My dad pays you to do this shit?" Leon asks, looking shocked yet amused. I snort, nodding as I stand and help him to his feet.
"Yeah, but the pay's not great though. Maybe you could put a word in?" I tease, still holding his arm as he smiles at me.
Leon nods, "I will, we could all discuss it over dinner?"
I snort again, dropping my hand as I grab my gun and reload it. Leon just waits for a reply as I walk away, grabbing my radio to update my friend and Field Office Support, Hunnigan.
