AN: I had someone request a Twister/ Twisters AU where Leon and Y/N are storm chasers. This was such a cool idea, and I loved writing this one. I haven't seen the new Twisters movie yet, but I used to be obsessed with Twister when I was younger (I actually wanted to be a storm chaser because of it, plus the TV show Storm Chasers lol)

----------------------------------------------------------

The sky is blanketed with ominous greenish grey clouds, the sure sign that tornado season is now in full swing. I shiver despite the warmth in the air, my team behind me chatter among themselves, eyes scanning the screens for any updates on the possible tornado forming near us. I scan the open field and horizon for any signs of a hidden storm, but there's nothing yet. Every year the storms seem to grow more intense, and this season was no exception. Already whole towns have witnessed the destruction of mother nature's wrath, bringing a sense of urgency and fear to us all, as well as a tad bit of excitement. This is going to be the year when I finally capture the footage I need to make a name for myself, I'm going to show everyone the beauty of tornadoes, as well as how deadly they are. Maybe then everyone will stop looking in his direction, and finally focus on the work I'm doing.

I hear the distant sounds of engines, followed by some rock song playing loudly from someone's radio. I roll my eyes, not even needing to glance at the trucks to know that he's arrived in time for the big show. Leon Kennedy. My biggest shadow in the world of storm chasing. I adjust my cap, turning from the hill I'm stood on to watch as Leon's team parks a little behind our cars, they're a massive contrast to my team's rusted paintwork and scruffy designs, Leon's team is made of money- his money. Money I should've earned from doing the exact same job as him, except Leon gets one up on me, purely because he's a fucking man. I scoff, stomping down the hill as the long grass grazes my bare legs.

"There's plenty more fields for you to find yourself in, Kennedy." I shout as Leon emerges, swiping off his cap as he tosses it through the window of his truck. His hands run through the darker blonde strands as he tilts his head and opens his arms, acknowledging me with a confident swagger. I cross my arms, nearing him as our teams linger behind, we all know that it's better to just not get involved between mine and Leon's...spats.

"I was actually looking for you, Y/L/N." Leon grins. I roll my eyes, definetly not taking in his blue jeans and white tee that fits him perfectly. Nope. I look over my shoulder at my team, who give me a thumbs up signalling that we're ready to go. At the same time, Leon's team seem to be buzzing with excitement, all shouting to each other as the wind picks up and the temperature seems to drop a little. Oh yes baby, we're on!

"Why, so you can steal my storm again?" I spit at him, turning on my heel as Leon's face drops. For a second he actually looks hurt, but then he springs forwards, fingers wrapping around my wrist as he tries to tug me back. My jaw drops as I spin and throw my fist out, but Leon's quick reactions means he catches it in his hand, giving me a sheepish smile he steps back, holding his hands up in a surrender. I narrow my eyes as the tension between us thickens, in the distance I hear the faint sounds of a storm siren blare to life. We've not got long now, if the storm hasn't touched down already. "What do you want?" I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose.

"You." Leon answers. I bark out a laugh, swiping at fake tears as I shoot him a levelling glare. "I'm serious. We both know you're good, I can't say the same about your team..." I raise my brow as Leon winces, "I didn't mean it like that. Just we both know your trucks and equipment aren't...you know, great. We're both after the same thing, so why don't you just join forces with me. Let me help you, and in return you can help me."

"Why? What makes me special?" I ask, heart fluttering as the breeze picks up, I tuck my hair behind my ear as Leon swallows.

"A lot. But the frequencies are off the charts this season, and I know you're one of the best for predicting where the storm's going to hit. That's why you're here, and not trailing behind the other chasers right now." Leon justifies. My team shouts for me behind us, everyone rushes around getting into the trucks as Leon and I stare at each other. Leon's face softens as if he's desperate, and though it's a great opportunity, I'm still not convinced. Engines roar to life as the music resumes, WASP's 'Wild Child' plays as Leon steps forwards, face softening as he quietly adds "Please Y/N." I can't believe I'm doing this. I nod, holding out a hand as Leon shakes it.
