AN: I saw this TikTok of the musician Yungblood and the cutest little girl, and for some reason my mind instantly went to rockstar AU Leon and single mum reader!

The day started fine with no blips, I spent all morning playing with my five year old daughter, Alice, whilst refraining from grinning like a madwoman in anticipation for tonight's concert. After three years of waiting, tonight I was finally seeing my favourite band live for the first time. Nothing beats the atmosphere of a concert filled with similar people who have as much love for the music as you do, and I couldn't wait to experience it with my best friend, Jennifer. I'm partway through tidying up after Alice's painting session when my phone rings. I answer it, noticing said best friend is calling me.

"Hey stranger." I excitedly tease, but instead of getting an equally hyped answer, I'm met with a fit of coughing and some light sniffling. I frown, nerves already fluttering at the not so positive sounds. "Jen?" I ask worriedly.

"I can't make it tonight Y/N, and I feel terrible about it." Jennifer nasally says sounding genuinely guilty. My heart sinks as I glance across the kitchen at Alice, who's holding up her painting to the sunlight for whatever reason. I let out a small hum, but Jen knows me too well. "God, I really do feel bad, I know the tickets aren't refundable, and I know you've been waiting so long."

"It's fine." I interrupt as Jennifer coughs once more, sounding sicker by the second. "I'll figure something out. Just get better soon, okay?" I try and cheerfully say. After a few more kind words and well wishes, I hang up, slumping into the closest chair as my daughter skips towards me, her brows knit together at the obvious disappointment in my face. She reaches out, patting my hand as I force a smile and pretend that I'm fine. Seeing Biohazard tonight was one of my biggest dreams, but the thought of going alone fills me with more sadness than I thought.

"What's wrong, are you sad?" Alice asks, opening her arms as I shake my head and pull her onto my lap.

"No, I'm okay," I reassure her, wiping at a paint streak on her cheek, "the good news is that I'm staying home tonight."

Alice only frowns deeper, "But you wanted to see your music? Maybe I can come too!" She cheers, eyes widening as the idea sparks a flicker of hope within me. It's not the best decision, taking my little girl to a rock concert, but there's no rules against it, and of course I'd be wary and extra careful. I stare at Alice for a few seconds, then against my better judgement I nod, a smile lifting my lips once more.

"Okay, only if you're sure you want to come. It might be loud, and crowded, and you've got to stay close to me at all times." I say, arching a brow as Alice grins and nods. I let out a small laugh as she hops off of my lap and takes my hand, leading me into her bedroom before giving me a lecture about outfits and makeup. Together we pick out our outfits, with both of us matching with black jeans and shirts. I sit on the floor and do my hair and makeup whilst Alice sits beside me and attempts to copy me. I smile, putting on a tiny bit of eyeshadow on her eyelids for fun as well as some lip balm. In return, Alice insists I wear one of her sparkly black bows in my hair, and I of course can't refuse. I also pack a satchel for Alice, including some headphones, snacks and other essentials she might need. I have no idea how she's going to react to the concert, so I overdo it a little.

When we arrive at the small but busy venue, the energy is buzzing. I grip Alice's hand as we scan our tickets and head inside. The venue has dive bar energy, but it's equally modern and very rock and roll, with neon lights illuminating the walls and graffiti splashing colour around. Posters of the upcoming gigs and tonight's performance are scattered everywhere, and some classic rock plays from speakers as everyone finds a spot and waits for Biohazard to come on. I hold Alice close to me with an arm wrapped around her shoulders, I guide her to the empty space at the back of the venue, where we've got more than enough room to be safe from mosh pits and headbangers, as well as any overly rowdy fans. I feel a brief flicker of apprehension as the lights dim and a countdown begins, but seeing Alice's massive grin and wide eyed look, I know she's fine for now. I constantly check, offering her drinks or a chance to leave now, but she shakes her head, eyes glued to the stage. I nod one final time, straightening up just as the band emerges onto stage.
