AN: I had someone ask me for a 'brother's best friend' scenario, so here's just a sweet imagine with Y/N Redfield and Leon being head over heels for each other whilst spending the summer at the Redfield lake house! (I wanted to make it sweet and summery, with a tad bit of smut!)
Cue August by Taylor Swift...
---------------------------------------------------------
The second I step out of the front door, I'm met with loud laughter and conversations from Chris and his friends from the BSAA. I can't help but to smile though, it's the beginning of August which means from now until the end of the month, Chris and I will be spending our summer here, vacationing to have some R&R as well as some overdue sibling bonding time. Between my job and Chris' work, we don't have a lot of time to meet up over the year, so summer's and Christmases basically make up for our lack of seeing each other. I don't mind, especially because it's always a fun filled month, along with Chris' friends coming to stay for a couple weeks to liven the place up, it's the epitome of a happy summer.
Scattered across the manicured lawn is Chris' best friends, as well as one of my own; Leon Kennedy. We're about the same age, and met in Raccoon City a few years ago. Ever since, Leon's become one of my closest friends, though I only tend to see him when he's hanging out with Chris. The faint scent of a barbeque lingers in the air as I finally walk down the steps, the sun twinkles off of the lake as I'm suddenly enveloped into hugs from Chris' friends, all commenting on how I keep Chris in line and how similar we are in personalities. I snort, pushing them away gently before they part, revealing Leon standing there looking a little out of place. I grin, opening my arms as he steps forwards and hugs me, it feels different compared to the others, we linger, my chin rests on his shoulder as Leon inhales my scent, something electric passes between us, something that's been developing slowly for a while, but before I can indulge in it, Leon pulls away.
Leon's joined the Redfield summer's for a couple years now, I always expect to see him here at the lake house for at least a week during August- I'm pretty sure Chris coerces him into a vacation, but regardless it only makes me more excited for the weeks to come. Leon's blue eyes linger on me as my breath catches, the sun's already beginning to lighten his blonder strands, making him look more like a model rather than a government agent. "It's good to see you, I was worried you didn't come this year." Leon smiles, tilting his head as he rubs the back of his neck nervously. I huff a laugh, shaking my head as I inch closer to him instinctively.
"You know I wouldn't miss this for the world." I reply, tucking my hair behind my ear. Chris' friends lead Leon and I around the side of the lake house, to where a couple of benches are as well as my brother, who's talking to Jill Valentine, his long time crush.
"So," Leon drawls, looking more at ease now the crowd's left us in favour of the main man, "how's your work treating you? Still enjoying it?"
I nod. "I'm loving it, it keeps me busy though. How about you? Still saving the world?" I tease, letting out a small laugh as Leon gives me a look that says it all. He chuckles, the sound making my heart flutter.
"Yeah, just dealing with the usual. Zombies. Bioterrorists. Assholes with too much time on their hands. Nothing I can't handle." He shrugs, gently knocking into me with his hip as I snort at his confidence.
"Just another day in the life of Leon Kennedy, huh?"
Leon's expression softens as he nods slowly, his eyes dart to my lips for a brief second as we're silent, that chemistry between us sizzles until Chris suddenly appears, clapping Leon on the back in a brotherly way. "There you are! I need you on the grill, those steaks won't cook themselves." Chris grins, looking between Leon and I as his eyes narrow ever so slightly. I step back, proving nothing's going on until I point to the table where Jill is, then awkwardly I side step past Leon as Chris hums and begins talking to Leon. I've always cherished the small moments between Leon and I, it's a bittersweet experience knowing we could easily be more than friends, but I'm not sure he'll ever see me as anything but Chris' little sister. The one woman he shouldn't seek out. I sigh, slumping onto the bench as Jill arches a dark brow at me, but her smile is knowing. I press a finger to my lips as she snorts and blows out a breath.
