End of the World Pt. 8

SOLENE STOOD INSIDE the throne hall of the Aurorion Palace, where her mother stood looking at the sea of clouds, the morning sun shining above, which illuminated the hall in a divine light.

Eos slowly turned towards her, her expression soft and almost motherly. She descended the steps, walking closer to her, who looked at her blankly.

"You have finally fulfilled the prophecy for me. I am proud of you, my child." She breathed, inhaling the air as if she was savoring the feeling of the Clover Kingdom getting incinerated by her daughter.

"I did not do it for you. You are a heartless goddess, letting even your devout worshippers die just for this to happen," Solene said, her voice ice cold.

"Jinn and the Forsythes knew exactly what was coming for them. The priestess knew she would die by your hands, but if it meant that the kingdom would be destroyed in return... I have granted her the death she wanted." She ignored Solene's glare as she walked around the marble floor. Sighing in contentment, she added, "At last, Theron and Thalia's kingdom will be gone forever. I have dreamt about this day for years."

Clenching her fists, Solene followed her with her eyes. "Bold of you to think that I would let the kingdom die. It hasn't been scorched entirely. And as long as I'm still here, I will not let you get what you want, Eos."

The dawn goddess raised an eyebrow at her. "You have fully embraced your divinity. Look at your eyes, Solene. The Clover Kingdom does not need your presence anymore."

She shook her head. "I have embraced my blood to save it from you."

Eos let out a laugh, echoing across the hall. "Am I blind, or are you the one who is incinerating the kingdom right now?"

"Because you ordered Jinn to kill my husband!" She roared, her palms glowing. "You might think that you won, Eos, but you didn't. I have faith that someone will stop me."

Her mother only chuckled as she leaned closer towards Solene, placing a hand on her soft cheek. "Solene, my dear. Even if what you say happens, remember that your son carries my golden blood as well. Wrenlark is my descendant who carries godhood and my magic."

THE GOLDEN DAWN and Black Bulls' magic had been drained because of Solene's spell. Trying to flee for their lives, they could only scream as their skin slowly got scorched, their lower limbs not moving further from the burning ground that was William's branches.

Letoile reached for David, who covered her body with his as they went up in flames. Noelle shielded Mimosa and the rest of the Black Bulls with what little water magic she had left. Yami panted, coughing as he watched his grimoire slowly crumbling to ashes. In fact, all of their grimoires were burning.

"Langris!" Finral tried to run towards his brother, tears welling in his eyes.

"F-Finral... you one insolent big brother..." Langris fell to his knees while clutching his chest. He flashed Finral a small smile as his body was seared in front of his brother.

The remaining members yelled for Asta, who was carrying Yuno.

"Stop h-her with your anti-magic, Asta..." Yuno said.

"I'm not just gonna leave you to die, Yuno!"

"Asta!" Klaus called as he, Alecdora, Shiren, and Hamon ran with him, calling for his help. But within seconds, their bodies were also set aflame.

"Klaus!" Asta screamed, then louder when he felt his skin blazing. This is the end.

Below in the Royal Capital, the Ents and their trees groaned and cried in pain as flames caught up with them. The Shades were smoldered instantly, but the Ents had used their healing abilities to at least delay the death that awaited them.
