"Best man?"
Bambam asked as they finished listening to the demo of his music in Lisa's studio.
Lisa nodded. "It was Jennie's idea. She's taken quite a liking to you."
He laughed. "Maybe that means there's still hope for me yet." He teased.
"You never quit," Lisa scoffed. "I would probably end up smacking you in the face one of these days."
"In complete seriousness - I'm honored you ask. But can I ask, why not Rosé? Or Jisoo?"
"Rosé's gonna be maid my maid of honor. And Jisoo is Jennie's. After walking me down the aisle, Suk-ku would be Jennie's best man as well."
"Right. Sure."
Lisa glanced at her watch to check the time. Jennie and Eun-woo would be back from the mall anytime now. "We're all having dinner tonight at our house - you're more than welcome to join."
He slouched back in his chair. "I might have other plans tonight."
Lisa shook her head. "No you don't. You're just gonna go to a bar and drink and watch strippers."
Bambam grinned at her. "You know me so well."
"Bam - you're coming to dinner."
"But - "
"No buts."
"Fine. I'll come."
Lisa drove her car while Bam followed on his own car behind her. She noticed that Jennie's car wasn't on the garage yet. As soon as they got inside they went straight to the kitchen, Bambam went to raid the fridge for beer while Lisa grabbed the booster seat for Eun-woo in one of the cabinets. As she placed it on the chair, she saw the funny look on Bambam's face and laughed. "It's called a booster chair."
"You said nothing about small people." He countered.
"Well Eun-woo isn't tall enough to reach the table." She retorted with a laugh.
"I don't do kids." He said nervously. "They weird me out."
"You'll be fine." Lisa said smirking. "Don't be such a ninny. Besides - it's not like we're going to leave you alone with him." She figured since it was a nice cool day, grilling outside would be appealing. Grabbing steaks from the fridge, she tossed them into the counter. In the pantry, she pulled out a bag of potatoes and a box of macaroni and cheese - knowing very well that her son would be expecting some.
She could feel Bambam watching her as she pulled out pots and pans that they'd need for dinner, which Jennie would start when she arrived. She couldn't imagine what was keeping Jennie and Eun-woo. "This seems to be quite the production." Bambam mused, nursing his beer.
Lisa smiled. "It's loud and chaotic, hillarious and fun. Just wait, you'll see."
The front door slamming echoed throughout the house, followed by Eun-woo's clunky footsteps making their way to the kitchen. "Mama! Mama! Mama!" She heard him squeal. "I gots new glasses!"
He stared at Lisa with a lopsided grin, the black wire rimmed glasses perched on his petite face making him a dead ringer for his mother. "I have never seen anything so cute in my life! Buddy - you look very dashing."
"Do I look more grown up?" He asked.
"Atleast seven." Lisa replied in her best serious voice.
He pumped a fist in the air. "Yes! Did you hear thats Mommy? Mama said I looked seven!"
Jennie laughed, making an appearance in the kitchen, a paper bag on her hip. "Mama likes to humor you sweetheart."
"I don't know what that means, but it sounds goods to me." Eun-woo replied before noticing the unfamiliar face standing in the corner where the two countertops met near the fridge. "Who's thats?"
Jennie looked up, slightly taken aback as she pushed Eun-woo's arm down. "Don't point." She reminded him. "Hi Bambam!"
Lisa looked over her shoulder at her friend, who gave a nervous smile. "Uh hello. Lisa said I could crash the dinner party tonight."
"Of course. The more the merrier! Eun-woo this is Mr. Bambam, he's Mama's friend. Use your manners - say hello."
Eun-woo didn't appear to look all that sure about the new face in the room. Lisa held out her hand and he took it, walking around the island so he could give a proper hello. "He won't bite," Lisa teased. "I promise."
"Are you talking about Eun-woo or Bambam?" Jennie teased, noticing the slightly terrified look on Bambam's face.
"Not funny Kim." Bambam scowled.
"Hello Mr. Bambam." Eun-woo said, extending his small hand. "I'm Eun-woo."
Bambam wasnt't sure what to do at first, until Lisa nodded her head for him to do the same. "Right," Bambam said as he cleared his throat. "Hi kid."
Eun-woo cocked his head to the side, staring at him before staring back at Lisa. "Is he the ones you said is a whore?"
Bambam nearly choked kn the swig of beer in his mouth as Jennie stared at Lisa. "I can explain." Lisa started.
"Explain what?" Jisoo asked, appearing at the kitchen with a bottle of wine.
"You aren't finished Manobal." Jennie warned.
"Of course not dear."
Jennie arched an eyebrow at her fiancé, who leaned in and gave her a kiss. She could explain it all once later. How Eun-woo remembered everything he heard was beyond Lisa most days.
"Babe, can I show Rosé my dress?"
Rosé shrieked. "You found a dress!"
"I found a dress!" Lisa exclaimed. "Come on! It's upstairs!"
Lisa dragged Rosé up the stairs, Rosé passing by Jisoo and stealing a kiss before running up the stairs behind Lisa, both of them squealing in excitement.
"Fucking hell - that was terrifying." Bambam mused.
"Dollar!" Eun-woo exclaimed.
"Huh?"
"You can't swears around me because I'm little, and Mommy says it's bad, so when Mama and Auntie Jisoo swear I gets a dollar." Eun-woo explained.
Bambam furrowed his brow at him, while Jennie and Jisoo muffled their laughs. "That seems like a pretty steep price for a swear."
"It's Mommy's rule." The boy replied. "And Mommy's the boss. She says so all the time."
Bambam pursed his lips as he stared at the mini-Kim, who seemed pretty adamant about the rules. "He's not joking, is he?" He asked Jennie and Jisoo.
"Between the Lisa and me, he's collected quite the fortune." Jisoo admitted.
Jennie started heating the pot for the mac and cheese and laughed. "Jisoo's right."
Bambam dug a hand into his pocket, pulling out a handful of bills. "Tell you what," he said handing the little boy a couple of them. "Consider this a down payment - because I'm certain it won't be the only swear from me tonight."
"Nice." Jennie mused as Eun-woo gleefully took the bills with both of his hands and carried them over to the table.
"He was the one that said it was a rule." Bambam countered. "I'm not crossing you."
Jisoo laughed, nodding in agreement. "It isn't a bad plan."
"Why can't you see the dress?" Bambam asked Jennie.
"Lisa said I have to wait until the big day. Although Suk-ku's clearly seen it." Jennie frowned.
"Believe me - it'll be worth the wait." Suk-ku said, appearing in the kitchen with boxes of pastries, stopping as he saw Bambam. "Hey man." He said with a nod.
"Kim." Bambam replied, doing the same.
"Good to see you." Suk-ku said. "I'd shake your hand, but they're full at the moment."
Bambam nodded. "I appreciate the sentiment."
"Right." Suk-ku stated before proceeding to the counter and dropping the boxes.
The four of them looking up and as they heard Lisa and Rosé squealing at how amazing Lisa's dress was, Jennie couldn't do much more than grin. Everything she never thought she would get was coming all together, piece by piece.
