56. Daddy Issues

1.5 months later...

Ram's lips curved into a broad smile as he glanced up from his file, his heart swelling up at the sight of his wife gently knocking on the door. 

With the excitement bursting inside, Adi eagerly gestured for her to come inside. Kunal and Vikrant also smiled widely seeing her. 

Priya(with a confused chuckle): Kya ho raha hai? Aap log itna muskura kyun rahe hain?

Adi looked at Ram and nudged him to tell Priya quickly. 

Adi: Arey bol na Ram!

Ram softly smiled, staring at Priya. 

Ram: EY Entrepreneur of the year ka nomination aaya hai Priya.

He saw Priya's mouth hung open and her eyes widened in astonishment instantly. 

Priya: WHAT? SACH MEIN?

Ram nodded softly, and the next moment, he saw his wife coming towards him and engulf him in a tight hug.

For Priya, the world around her stopped existing at that moment. She was just a proud wife, extremely happy with her husband's achievements. 

Priya knew how much Ram wanted this. From the last two years he had been getting nominated but he didn't win. He wanted to win this ones so that he could at least represent India in the global event. 

Priya(with a smile): Congratulations Ram! We love you and we are really really proud of you. 

Ram smiled as she uttered "we", referring to their baby and herself. 

Ram: Thank you. But abhi se itna khush mat ho...jeeta nahi hoon, nomination hi hai bass. 

Breaking the hug, Priya looked at him with a frown.

Priya: Toh kya Ram? That's also huge. You get nominated each year because they know your value, what you add to the business world. I know do saal aapko award nahi mila tha...aur aap thode upset the, Adi ne bataya hai mujhe. I know aap kitna effort daalte hain apne kaam mein, aur sach mein main hopeful hona chahti hoon. So be happy! Woh bolte hain na "third time's a charm". 

Ram smiled widely. He loved the fact that his wife was way more excited than he was. A part of him was feeling anxious because he didn't want to win this year as winning means he would have to go to Monaco in June where the international award ceremony would take place. He didn't want to leave his pregnant wife at home to attend an event even if it was important.

Wrapping his arm around her, he looked at his friends who were smiling. Priya also smiled at them. 

Priya: Kab pata chala aap logon ko?

Ram: Abhi kuch der pehle hi. Adi aur Kunal yeh hi the jab mail aaya mujhe. 

Priya gave him a toothy smile. 

Adi: Tu party dega hume!

Ram: Tum log bhi party doge because yeh mere akele ka achievement thodi hai. Tum log na hote toh aaj Kapoor Urbans ya main iss maqam takk kabhi nahi pohochta. 

Kunal: Ram tu har baat senti kyun kar deta hai bhai...(Opening his arms) Aaja aaja. 

Ram chuckled and wrapped his arms around Kunal, Adi and Vikrant also joined, squeezing them with a tight hug.

Priya sweetly captured a video of the four just giggling and being happy and then went to sit on the sofa. 

Breaking the hug, Ram sat down beside Priya while others also took their seats to have their lunch together.
