Scott opens the door to his smiling boyfriend. "Hey, sweetheart," Mark says, leaning in for a hug.

"Hey, Marky." Scott hugs Mark back. "I missed you."

"I missed you too," Mark brings his suitcase in, and the door closes behind him. "Look at us, we've only been apart for five days."

"I missed youuuuuu," Scott whines. "There's nothing wrong with that." He says.

"You're absolutely right," Mark says. "What have you been up to, my love?" He smiles at Scott.

Scott blushes at the nickname. "We rehearsed our whole set the other day," he says, "I can't believe we leave for tour again in just two weeks," he says.

"I know," Mark says. "It feels like tour just ended."

"I'm always excited, though," Scott says. "And, um," he blushes deeper. "I...got another tattoo."

"You did?" Mark tilts his head. "You never told me about that."

"Yeah, I wanted to surprise you."

"Well let me see!" Mark says. "Where is it? It's not one of those weird penis tattoos, is it?"

Scott laughs. "No, definitely not!" He says.

"Well, what is it?"

Scott takes off his shirt, and shows Mark his left arm.

He points at the new tattoo with his right arm. There, nestled with some of the other flowers on his still-in-progress sleeve, is a rose.

"Oh, Scotty," Mark looks at it. "It's beautiful."

"It's yours." Scott says.

"What?" Mark asks.

"You know how each flower on here is for someone?" Scott asks. "This rose is yours."

"What?" Mark asks again, in disbelief. "Scott, you said those were just for family..."

"Well," Scott starts, "Marky, you are family. You're my soulmate, and I have no doubt in my mind about that."

Mark frowns, fighting tears. "Yeah," he says, his voice cracking.

"Marky, you're the most incredible person I've ever met, in every single way," Scott says. "I wanted you on my sleeve, on my skin—in my skin, forever."

A single tear falls down Mark's cheek. "Scotty," he hiccups.

Scott smiles at Mark. "I love you, Marky," he says. "You're my soulmate, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I hope you know that." He grabs both of Mark's hands.

"I want that too," Mark's voice breaks again, a few more tears slipping out. "I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting the tattoo, or, or- the speech," he says.

"It's okay," Scott says, wiping some of Mark's tears, and then joining his hands back to Mark's.

"Why a rose?" Mark asks.

"Because," Scott says. "You're a rose. You're my rose."

Mark looks at Scott, not understanding.

"You're my rose," Scott says. "My perfect, beautiful, lovely partner, baby." He says. "When I was picking what flower to have for you, it was immediately a rose. Because roses are the flower of love."

Mark nods. "I love you," he says.

Scott smiles. "I love you too." He leans in to kiss Mark.

"I didn't need to be hit with all of this emotion when I'm jet lagged," Mark wipes the tears from under his eyes.

Scott chuckles, leaning in to kiss each of Mark's cheeks this time. "I'm sorry, love."

Mark laughs. "It's okay, baby," he says.

"Someday, I'll marry you," Scott starts, "And we can make the rest-of-our-lives thing official."

"Ugh, that sounds so perfect," Mark says, hugging Scott tightly.

Scott hugs him back, kissing his hair this time. "I can't wait."
