Nicholas looked at the teenagers gathered around the dinette table and said firmly," I do hate to interrupt your time with young Alan but I am afraid it is time for you all to depart for home. I shall have Saunders alert the chauffeur to take you all back to your homes. And , Alan, you look very tired. You should return upstairs to rest. "

Theodore said with a shake of his head and a stubborn set to his mouth," I am not leaving Alan. What is going on, sir? "

Nicholas sighed heavily. " You are going home. Along with Luci , Sol and Jeff. You can speak to Alan later. "

Jeff snapped," I am not leaving this house and my brother alone without my mother here. I want to know exactly what is going on. I don't care how rich you are. This is my family not one of your stock shares. "

Nicholas looked drained in the face as he said almost wearily," Do as you choose, Jeffrey. But I am having the others driven back home safely and Alan escorted to his bedroom. " Then his eyes went coolly  to Scott who sat eagerly beside his oldest son Alexi. " And , Mr. Sands , I would like you to exit the premises as well. "

Alexi glanced at his lover in much confusion and then back at his father. He commanded briskly," Father , whatever is the meaning of this? Scott is my guest. I don't....."

Nicholas interrupted abruptly," Please nobody argue with me on these points. Time is critical. I must ask that nothing seen or heard tonight leave this room. " His eyes went over to Max who was standing and braced ready for action. " Maxim , you shall have your way. I am going to telephone the police as well as Dom Gaines from Gaines Investigations."

Jeff and Alan glanced at each other briefly. Jeff opened his mouth once more but Alan beat him to whatever he was going to say by retorting in an uncharacteristically blunt manner," What is going on, Nicholas? Is it Mom? Is she.... she okay? " Alan's hand squeezed Theodore's.

Nicholas said simply," Your mother has been kidnapped, son. I am sorry. "Then he glanced coldly at Scott , saying," This is not knowledge I want to see in the pages of the Washington Reign , Mr. Sands. If I do trust that your employers will be hearing from my attorneys. "
