" The kid couldn't id anyone, " Detective Jacks said roughly as he came to a stop next to Richard's hospital bedside as he laid a few pictures of young Black girls on the tray table before the patient.
Richard blinked his eyes as he very much enjoyed the much stronger pain killer the doctor had given him to ease his distressing pain in his abdomen area. He smiled faintly and looked at the photos before him. He blinked at them and then at the cop who just scowled back at him. " So you want me to.........."
Nigel leaned forward in the chair next to the bed and watched the cop with his one working suspicious eye. " I really don't think he is capable of this right now, Detective. "
Jacks shot out," It's just a few pictures. Just look at them and tell me if you recognize any of them from the store. Surely you can remember who shot you? "
Richard laughed. Or , actually, he giggled which had Nigel looking at him with alarm bells echoing within his head.
Nigel said sharply," Richard......."
Richard just grinned and shook his head at his husband. " I'm fine, lover. Just super duper fine. Never felt better. Let me see these things here. "
His glazed grey eyes gazed at the photos that looked like a mix of booking pictures and one school id photo. His brow furrowed and he stared vacantly at them. Then he closed his eyes and thought for a second. After reopening them he looked at the pictures again.
Richard grinned at Jacks and laughed. " I don't have the faintest slightest idea who these girls are. " He idly poked at one picture. " This one looks familiar. "
The picture he touched was the Hyattsville Middle School student id picture of Nicole Duncan.
