Josephine bundled her three young charges Lev , Boris and Ivan , in their warm jackets and hats , for their daily walk through the neighborhood to the nearby park. She believed in daily exercise for the boys to make them strong as they grew. As much as she did care for their father she didn't want them to be as physically weak as Maxim. Her boys must grow up to be very strong, sure footed and quite manly. Not like that Alexi or Nigel. And , certainly not like that prince who had just arrived with the two servants, she thought as they all proceeded down the long winding staircase in a single file line with her directly in front. There was something off about Prince Cedric. Something not quite right to her.

As they all reached the last step she pulled out a whistle and immediately blew it to capture the boys' attention. They quickly fell into place before her to her satisfaction and she said sharply," Do not remove your leashes until we get to the park, boys. And , no running outside even in the park. No getting dirty. And, Ivan, stay away from that old lady's nasty dog. I hate dogs. Filthy undisciplined beasts. Now let us depart."

Before they could leave the estate through the front door though that old lady who had came to stay with the funny prince walked up to them all from the back of the house. As usual she was smiling brightly like a shark. Smiling at Josephine's charges.

" Well ,  Dela , young fellows," Nanny chortled as she patted each child on his head lovingly. " How are you today? "

Ivan said quietly," What is Dela ? "

" It means hello in Eldermist. That is what we speak in my country of Eldermere. That and English. It is an old ancient language. As old as Eldermere which predates America and most countries. "

As Boris sucked his thumb Lev said enthusiastically," That's very interesting. I like you. Do you have any sweeties ? "

Nanny smiled fondly as she reached into the pocket of her warm looking sweater. " Why , I may have a few , my churlinas. Churlinas is children in my language. I always carry sweeties on me. My Cedric loves anything sweet. It has always been his one vice. "

Josephine's blue eyes chilled over at the old lady. " No. They do not eat candy. They are on a very strict dietary routine which they are all fully aware of. I would ask you, madame , not to disturb or touch my children. Thank you much. Now , boys , let us kindly go on walk now. And , Boris , remove that thumb from your mouth ! You are one now. Not a baby ! "

As she rigidly lead the children out of the house Nanny shook her head in sympathy for the children and took a colorfully wrapped candy from her pocket to unwrap and stick in her mouth. " Poor little mites. No sweeties. I can't imagine. A little Van Burden Fine Chocolate hurts nobody. "
