" Why are you making faces like that? ," Joe Jacobs asked as he came into the kitchen for more coffee and found his husband Winston sitting at the table completely engrossed in a letter he was writing. Joe wanted to laugh. He did love the man so. He was so delightfully quaint sometimes. Who still wrote letters in this day and age ? , he pondered as he sat in the chair beside him. Not with such wonderful things as email and text and video chat available.
Winston looked up and sighed. He actually poked out his lip. Joe smiled. The man might be old fashioned but he was adorable and he was all his forever. And, he could talk again which Joe was so grateful about. He had missed the sound of his wonderful lilting voice.
" I'm," Winston said slowly and precisely," tttrying to..... to write a letter to the bar association. I want.... them to re.... re.... make me eligible once more to be a lawyer. Now that I can speak again. I don't know what to say though. "
Joe's smile slipped gradually. Yes , Winston had told him of his plans to try to get his disbarment overturned but he himself didn't hold out much hope for it. Of course he wasn't a lawyer or anything college educated. The closest he had ever come to higher education was when he had given a bj to a very large teacher assistant at University of Maryland College Park. Behind the bleachers if he was recalling it correctly. Good times. He was just the owner of a gay club who also had a tremendous amount of stock in Harts and Flowers, LifeChapters and FireBook. What did he know about things like that really?
All he knew was he didn't want his husband to be disappointed if he did all of this and got totally rejected in the end.
" Well , darling , when I can't think of anything else to say or write or whatever I tend to tell little fibbies. "
Winston sighed deeply. " I can't.... can't.... do that. That's what..... got me in this.... situation to start with. "
