No'ones Pov
Financier trudged through the thick snow, her feet sinking into the layers. She groaned silently as some of the snow fell into her boots.
"Caramel Arrow!" She called out to the figure, perfectly poised with her arm positioned.
Thunk. Caramel Arrow released the string, letting the arrow fly, hitting the bullseye with a thunk. She turned around, her eyes widening.
"Financier!" Caramel Arrow exclaimed, rushing towards her, "What brings you here to the mountains?"
"Clotted Cream had business with Dark Cacoa," Financier explained, a smile spreading as she wrapped her arms around Caramel Arrow. They let go of each other, and she commented, "Good shot by the way."
"Well, I never miss," Caramel Arrow said seriously.
"I'd like to try shooting...because I want a shot at you and I promise I won't miss," Financier said, watching in amusement as the blush spread on Caramel Arrow's face.
"Stopp it's too early for that!" She huffed, shoving Financier lightly.
Financier giggled, glancing at the arrows in the quivers around the shooting grounds. She walked over to the rack of bows, examining the smooth dark wood.
"I do want to try shooting for real though," Financier said, her hands hovering over one of the bows, "May I?"
"Go ahead, just be careful," Caramel Arrow nodded, adding "Do you need help?"
"Thank you for the offer, but I think I'll be fine. It seems easy," She dismissed, picking up three arrows along with the bow.
"Easy?" Caramel Arrow raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms.
"It's just a matter of aiming right," Financier shrugged, striding to stand in front of a new target like Caramel Arrow. Something like that is easy for a paladin."
Caramel Arrow said nothing, silently watching her raise her arms. She pulled it back, biting her tongue, one eye shut and the other squinting. Financier stood still for a few seconds with concentration, her arms quivering, before she let go.
The arrow flew, before landing feet before the target.
"That was a mistake. First time, close enough," Financier defended, frowning at the arrow.
She fished a hair tie out of her pocket, tying her silky blonde hair up, then picked up the second arrow. This time, she let go quickly. The arrow sailed over the target, ricocheting off the stone wall.
"Hm," Financier hummed. She reached for a third arrow, "Third's the lucky number. I'll request some help afterwards if necessary, but no worries, it won't be."
The arrow flew...
Thunk!
"What the- how did you get it up there?!" Caramel Arrow yelped, squinting at the arrow now lodged underneath a pine tree's branches.
"I don't know!" Financier cried, her eyes widening, "I'm sorry about that arrow, should I try getting it down?"
She looked at the tree, which looked like it was ready to prickle her like a cactus would, or dump a layer of snow on her.
"No need, I'll get it later," Caramel Arrow reassured, sighing.
"But, I am helping you with this skill. You're well...you're not the best," She continued, slightly sternly.
Financier gripped the bow tightly, her determination unwavering despite the snow numbing her hands.
"Perhaps archery isn't quite like wielding a sword," she muttered, her tone sharp but more focused than playful. She glanced at Caramel Arrow, eyes narrowed. "Still, if I manage to hit the bullseye, you'll owe me something."
"And what would that be?" she asked, her voice even, though a flicker of curiosity betrayed her.
Financier hummed, her expression determined. "I haven't decided yet."
Caramel Arrow's lips twitched, just barely. "You're bold to make demands before proving yourself."
Undeterred, Financier lifted her bow again, her focus sharpening. She released the arrow, watching as it veered slightly off course, striking just outside the first ring of the target board.
She lowered the bow and straightened her back, her expression hard but reflective, glaring at the arrow like they had an issue, "Once more and I'll get it."
Caramel Arrow stepped forward, her movements graceful yet commanding.
"You need more control," she said, her voice firm.
Her hand reached out, steady and sure, to adjust Financier's grip. "Loosen your stance. You're tensing up. That's why you missed."
Financier's breath steadied as Caramel's hands briefly lingered on hers, correcting her posture with precision.
"Stance is important," Caramel Arrow continued, her voice unwavering, "but balance, patience, discipline, and release is what defines accuracy."
Financier nodded, her eyes fixed on the target once more. Her mind processed Caramel's words as seriously as any command she'd been given in battle. With Caramel Arrow watching her closely, Financier drew another arrow, inhaling deeply before releasing it.
Thunk!
This time, it struck closer to the center—still off by a margin, but an improvement. Financier's expression remained composed, though satisfaction glinted briefly in her eyes.
Caramel Arrow allowed herself a nod of approval, "Better."
"Not good enough," Financier replied, her tone resolute. "I'll need to practice more."
"Don't worry, you'll get there," Caramel Arrow reassured, looking at that arrow.
As they stood in the stillness of the mountains, Financier walked over to the quiver to grab another arrow, her focus already returning.
"Once more," Financier said, lifting the bow again. "I can do better. Then, we can duel."
Caramel Arrow watched her closely. She replied calmly, with an undertone of warmth. "Then we'll stay until you do."

I feel like I could make this one shot better, but I'm so tired, sorry guys TwT
I'm so confused about this guy (pretty sure he doesn't like me but maybe?), drowning in hw, clubs/student solitary committee stuff, and you know what's crazy?
I actually want to fucking sleep and not wake up for a whole day.
And trust me, I'm the last person to say that if you know me irl.
Anyway, hope you guys still enjoy this chapter! Have a great day/night :D
