The next morning, the city woke up to the echoes of temple bells, the scent of burning incense, and the rhythmic chants of devotees. Mahashivratri had arrived—a day of deep devotion, fasting, and prayers to Lord Shiva.
The air was crisp, cool, and filled with an almost sacred energy. The streets were lined with saffron-clad devotees, and every temple seemed to glow in the golden morning light, adorned with fresh flowers, diyas, and streams of marigold garlands.
Mahashivratri is a night of great significance—the night when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati united in eternal bond. Devotees fasted, seeking strength, wisdom, and divine blessings, believing that Lord Shiva himself descended upon the earth to bless those who prayed with a pure heart.
Inside the hotel room, however, the atmosphere was anything but peaceful.
Jungkook ran a hand through his hair in frustration, his sharp gaze locked on Tae, who was sitting calmly near the window, preparing flowers for her puja.
Jk- I’m saying this for the last time, Tae. (he warned, his tone clipped) You’re not fasting today.
Tae didn’t even flinch.
Tae- I am fasting. (her voice was soft but firm, her delicate fingers threading a jasmine garland)
Jungkook exhaled sharply. This woman!
Jk- You fainted just yesterday, and now you’re talking about skipping food the entire day?! (his voice rose slightly, his irritation spilling over)
Tae finally looked up at him, her eyes calm and unwavering.
Tae- Mahashivratri is important to me, Jungkook. It’s not just about food—it’s about devotion.
Jungkook scoffed, crossing his arms. Devotion?
Jk- You think God will be happy if you end up collapsing again? (his eyes narrowed) I have kids to handle too, Tae. I can’t carry you around everywhere if you decide to fall unconscious again.
Tae’s fingers stilled for a moment.
His words were harsh, almost cold.
But she knew Jungkook. This wasn’t just frustration—he was worried.
Tae- I won’t faint. (she said softly) I will be fine.
Jungkook clenched his jaw. Why doesn’t she ever listen?!
Jk- Fine. (his voice was low, warning) At least eat some fruits. I don’t care about your rules, just have something.
Tae shook her head.
Tae- A true fast means no food, Sa. Not even fruits.
His fingers curled into fists. He wanted to argue more, to shake some sense into her—but he could already see it in her eyes.
She had made up her mind.
Jk- Unbelievable. (he muttered under his breath, turning away before he lost his temper completely)
Tae bit her lip, then spoke carefully.
Tae- Take me to the Shivji temple here.
Jungkook, who had just picked up his coat, froze.
He turned back slowly, his gaze sharp.
Jk- What?
Tae- I want to visit the temple today.
Jungkook sighed deeply, rubbing his temples.
Jk- Tae, the temple will be crowded. It’s Mahashivratri. Do you know how many people will be there?
