The sun had begun its descent behind the horizon, casting an orange glow over the Jeon Residence. The air smelled of wet soil as heavy clouds loomed over the sky, hinting at an approaching storm.
Mr. and Mrs. Kim, along with little Jiminee, bid their farewells, their car droving toward Kim Haveli. Sumi, too, left with Mani, eager to meet her parents, Kamlesh and Jigna.
Jung-guk, on the other hand, had gone to visit an old friend, deciding to stay the night at his place.
Now, the grand residence felt quieter than usual. Only four people remained-Tae, Jung-hyun, Jasoda Kaki, and Raghu Kaka.
Jasoda Kaki, adjusting her ghungat, picked up a small cloth handbag.
Jasoda- Sethani, I will go and fetch some fruits and vegetables. (she informed Tae, tucking a few coins into the bag) Your Kaka-sa is here; okay?
Tae, who had been sitting near the crib, gently rocking Hyunie to sleep, glanced at her.
Tae- Raghu Kaka will drive you to the market, Kaki.
Jasoda shook her head, waving a dismissive hand.
Jasoda- No, no, it's fine. You will be alone.
Tae smiled reassuringly.
Tae- It's fine. Sa will be back soon. You go with Kaka.
Jasoda hesitated for a moment before nodding.
Jasoda- Okay, Sethani. I will return soon.
She adjusted her pallu over her head and stepped out, Raghu Kaka following behind.
The house was silent again.
Tae sat on the wooden rocking chair, petting little Hyunie while humming a quiet lullaby. The child nestled comfortably against her chest, his small fingers gripping the fabric of her dupatta.
A cool breeze drifted in through the open window, carrying the scent of rain. Tae carefully placed Hyunie in his crib, adjusting his tiny blanket. She leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.

But before she could move away-
CRACK!
A loud thunderclap tore through the sky. The entire haveli trembled slightly from its force.
"WAAAAAAAAH!!!"
Hyunie's terrified wails pierced the silence. The infant thrashed in his crib, his tiny fists clenching as his face scrunched in distress.
Tae immediately scooped him into her arms.
Tae- Shh, shh... Hyunie, don't be scared. Maa is here.
