The sun was shining brightly through the window as Tae stood in front of her mirror, brushing her hair absentmindedly. Her reflection showed a calm demeanor, but inside, her thoughts were far from peaceful.
Since morning, an uneasiness had taken root in her heart, making her feel restless. She couldn’t pinpoint why, but something about the day felt different, and not in a good way.
Lost in her thoughts, Tae didn’t notice Jungkook entering the room. He held a neatly folded letter in his hand, a soft smirk playing on his lips.
Jk- Tae.. (he called her name, his deep voice filling the room)
But Tae didn’t respond. Her gaze was fixed somewhere beyond the mirror, her mind clouded by the strange feeling of fear.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, watching her lost expression, and decided to bring her back to reality. He walked closer, leaned slightly, and pinched her waist lightly.
Tae- Ouch! (she yelped, turning abruptly to see Jungkook grinning at her)
Jk- Finally, you’re back on earth? (he teased, tilting his head) Where were you lost, hmm?
Tae blinked at him, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Tae- Nowhere. (she murmured, shaking her head)
Jungkook wasn’t convinced. He gently turned her to face him, his thumb brushing against her cheek as his eyes softened.
Jk- Don’t lie to me, Tae. What’s bothering you?
Tae hesitated but eventually shook her head again.
Tae- Nothing, really. Just… some random thoughts.
Jungkook sighed, deciding not to push her further.
Jk- Alright. (he said, lifting the envelope in his hand) But maybe this will bring you out of your thoughts. Your result is here.
Tae’s eyes widened at his words. She had completely forgotten that today was the day her examination results would arrive. Her nervousness spiked immediately. She stared at the envelope like it was something dangerous.
Jk- Open it. (he said, extending it toward her)
Tae bit her lip, shaking her head furiously.
Tae- I-I can’t. What if… what if I failed?
Jungkook frowned at her words, crossing his arms.
Jk- Fail? And you call yourself Jeon Jungkook’s wife? There’s no way you could fail. In fact, I’m sure you’ve topped the entire university.
Tae’s nervousness didn’t waver.
Tae- You say that, but what if you’re wrong? I can’t look at it. You see it first. (she pleaded, pushing the envelope back toward him)
Jungkook chuckled at her antics.
Jk- Alright, I’ll check. But you’d better be prepared for the result.
As he carefully opened the letter, Tae watched him intently, trying to read his expression. Jungkook’s face remained neutral as he unfolded the paper and scanned its contents. Then, he let out a sigh and shook his head, his expression turning serious.
Jk- I can’t believe this. (he muttered, holding the letter in his hand)
Tae felt her heart sink. Her eyes turned glossy as she stepped closer.
Tae- I… I did that bad? (she stuttered, her voice barely above a whisper)
Jungkook looked at her, his serious expression unwavering for a moment. Then, suddenly, his face broke into a wide grin.
