The first rays of dawn filtered through the windows, casting a golden hue over the room. Tae stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open to the quiet serenity of the morning.
As she shifted slightly under the soft bedsheets, she felt the weight of an arm draped firmly around her waist. Turning her head, she saw Jungkook nestled closer to her, his face relaxed and serene in his sleep.
A faint blush crept onto her cheeks as memories of the previous night replayed vividly in her mind. She bite her lip to suppress a shy smile and gently brushed a strand of hair from his forehead.
For a moment, she simply admired him—how peaceful he looked without his usual serious face. The small beard on his jaw made him look both strong and cute.
Carefully, she tried to remove his arm and sit up, but the moment she moved, Jungkook groaned softly, his grip tightening around her waist as he mumbled something incoherent. Startled yet endeared, Tae froze, her blush deepening. His hold was firm but comforting, as if he feared she might vanish if he let go.
He stirred, slowly opening his eyes, their dark depths hazy with sleep. It took him a moment to register her face hovering above him, but when he did, a soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
Jk- Good morning. (he murmured, his voice deep and husky from sleep)
Tae- Good morning Sa. (she replied, her voice barely above a whisper, shy under his gaze)
Jungkook reached up, his rough fingers gently caressing her cheek.
Jk- You look… beautiful. (he said, his eyes lingering on her face)
Flustered, Tae looked away, but Jungkook leaned closer and placed a feather-light kiss on her lips. She gasped softly, her cheeks turning crimson.
Pulling her even closer, he lay back against the headboard, cradling her against his chest. One arm wrapped protectively around her shoulder while the other rested behind his head, his gaze fixed on the ceiling, a small smile playing on his lips.
Tae- What are you thinking? (she asked softly, her head resting on his chest, her fingers lightly tracing circles on his skin)
Jungkook's hand absentmindedly began tracing patterns on her back as he answered in his deep morning voice,
Jk- This is the best trip I've ever been to. Just us—no family, no work, no responsibilities. If only life could always be like this. Just you and me.
His words made her heart flutter, and she couldn't help but smile. Lifting her head slightly to look at him, she said,
Tae- If life would be this easy, it might lose it's meaning. The challenges are what make it all worthwhile.
Jungkook turned his head to look at her, his gaze tender yet filled with admiration.
Jk- You're younger than me. (he said, his voice laced with amusement) but sometimes you're wiser. How did I get so lucky to marry you?
Tae laughed softly, her cheeks glowing.
Tae- Maybe fate was on your side. (she teased)
He chuckled and leaned down to kiss her forehead, but as his hand began to wander lower on her back, Tae narrowed her eyes at him and slapped his chest lightly.
Tae- Sa! (she exclaimed, sitting up) We need to freshen up. If we don't leave soon, we'll reach the village late at night.
Jungkook smirked, catching her wrist before she could move away. Pulling her back down, he whispered,
