The sun had barely risen when Jungkook and Tae set out for the city. The early morning air was crisp, carrying the scent of damp earth as their car sped along the dusty road. The silence between them was thick, unbroken except for the low hum of the engine.

After last night, neither had spoken much. Only a few words—just enough to acknowledge each other’s presence.

Tae stole a glance at Jungkook, his face unreadable as he focused on the road. His hands gripped the steering wheel firmly, his knuckles slightly pale from the pressure. There was no trace of the anger that had flared last night nor of the exhaustion that followed.

She looked away, sighing softly.

The journey stretched long, with vast golden fields and occasional villages passing by. But soon, the surroundings changed. The barren landscapes gave way to buildings, shops, and bustling streets—the unmistakable signs of the city.

Finally, the car rolled to a stop in front of a grand school building.

Tae’s eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. The school was a two-story building made of stone and whitewashed walls, its architecture reflecting both tradition and modernity. Large arched windows lined the structure, and the main entrance had intricately carved wooden doors, reminiscent of old havelis.

A tall iron gate stood at the front, painted deep green, with golden letters spelling out the name "Sharda Vidya Mandir" across the arch above it.

Beyond the gate, an open courtyard stretched wide, where students, neatly dressed in their uniforms, walked in groups.

The girls wore salwar suits—white kameez with navy blue salwars and matching dupattas—while the boys were dressed in crisp white shirts and navy blue trousers.

Some students carried books, others chatted animatedly, and a few teachers in simple cotton sarees walked among them, their presence commanding quiet discipline.

Tae’s lips curved into a small smile.

A school like this… she had always wished to study in one. She had dreamed of sitting in a classroom, reading from textbooks, and writing on a blackboard. But she had never gotten the chance.

Still, she was happy. At least Jiminee would get the opportunity she never had.

Jungkook stepped out of the car first. Tae quickly followed, still stealing glances at the school as they walked towards the gate.

Jungkook’s strides were purposeful, his presence demanding attention even without him saying a word. Tae followed closely behind, her excitement momentarily overshadowing the unease she had felt all morning.

Inside, they stopped before a wooden door with a brass nameplate that read:

Mr. Rajendra Kumar- Principal

Jungkook knocked once.

A moment later, the door opened, and an elderly man, dressed in a neatly pressed white kurta and dhoti, looked up. His round spectacles sat at the edge of his nose, and his face carried the calm authority of someone used to discipline.

Upon recognizing Jungkook, he immediately stood, offering a warm yet formal smile.

Principal- Ah, Mr. Jeon. It is an honor to have you here.

Jungkook nodded in acknowledgment before gesturing toward Tae.

Jk- This is my wife, Mrs. Jeon.

The Principal turned to Tae with a polite smile.
