Everyone please comment a lot!!!!

Jungkook sat in his small, cluttered office, his fingers gripping the edge of the table as he skimmed through yet another file. The room smelled of old paper, ink, and exhaustion. The wooden desk before him was piled with documents, each one carrying the weight of an unspoken humiliation.

His title still read Deputy Collector, but in reality, he was nothing more than a glorified clerk now.

The new District Collector, Park Seojoon, had made sure of that.

Jungkook chuckled dryly, running a hand through his disheveled hair.

How ironic.

Not just his enemies, but even God himself seemed to be enjoying his downfall.

Before him lay a week's worth of work-files upon files stacked so high that they threatened to collapse. And he had been given only a day to complete it.

A quiet rage simmered inside him, but he didn't let it show.

He couldn't.

What was the point?

No one feared him anymore.

No one respected him.

Just then, the door banged open, and Park Seojoon strode out of his cabin, his polished shoes clicking sharply against the floor.

The entire office fell silent.

Clerks froze in place, peeking from their desks. Some turned their heads away, pretending to be engrossed in their work, but their ears were trained on what was about to unfold.

Jungkook didn't have to look up to know what was coming.

The next moment, a thick file came flying towards him.

THUD!

It slammed against his desk, scattering loose papers all over the floor.

Seojoon- What the fuck is this, Jeon? (his voice boomed, laced with venom and mockery) Are you fucking useless or just pretending to be?

Jungkook exhaled slowly, his jaw tightening.

Seojoon wasn't done.

He placed both hands on Jungkook's desk, leaning down, his eyes flashing with undisguised contempt.

Seojoon- Do you think I'm here to clean up after your incompetence? You were once a District Collector, huh? Then why the fuck do these reports look like they were prepared by an illiterate fool?

A few clerks stifled gasps. Others stared at their desks, unwilling to witness the public humiliation of a man who had once commanded the entire district.

Jungkook didn't move.

Didn't react.

His fingers curled into a fist under the table, but he kept his face blank.

What could he say?

What power did he have to defend himself?

Seojoon let out a mocking chuckle.

Seojoon- You're awfully quiet, Jeon. (he tilted his head) Oh wait. I forgot. You don't have a voice anymore, do you?

Laughter rippled through the office, quiet but sharp, like knives slicing through Jungkook's pride.

Seojoon straightened up, adjusting his sleeves.

Seojoon- Finish these files before the end of the day. Or don't bother showing up tomorrow.
